I guess we will see down the road who will have the last laugh. All I know is that what I've seen from Moncrief and the odds of a random 2nd I'm more comfortable with Moncrief odds based on his production.

Brissett certainly looked better than Tolzien, Moncrief had the much better match-up with Bethel than TY did (Peterson), for some reason it seemed Brissett kept looking for Aiken (vs Honey Badger) who only caught 3 of his targets ...

Kamar Aiken 9 targets, caught 3, 3.4 avg, 31 yds
Donte Moncrief 8 targets, caught 2, 2.3 avg, 18 yds
Jack Doyle 8 targets, caught 8, 9.9 avg, 79 yds, 107.8 rtg (hey now...)
TY Hilton 6 targets, caught 4, 8.2 avg, 49 yds

I have the spot on my bench and I'll temper my expectations. He sits for now.
I think moncrief owners need to realize that he is what he is, he'll have ups and downs. Will he ever be W1? No, but as a bench stash that you might be able to play in a flex or use on a bye week, I'll take his situation(when luck is healthy) over many others.

I love Moncrief's potential, and he really has failed to live up with it, but he really does have a good excuse every time. Luck will be back soon I hope, and Donte will have a 3 TD game, and all will be forgiven. Or, he'll be worthless.

I believe if Moncrief doesn't legitimately break out this year, it will never happen. This is his last chance. He's had legitimate excuses for not quite breaking through to this point, and he still has a legitimate excuse now, but time has run out.

As for the drops last Sunday: meh. Drops only matter when they're habitual. Moncrief does not habitually drop passes. Moncrief's career is on the brink of bust, but his hands are not the issue.

15 mins ago I watched Brandon Marshall run a classic Marshall go-route where he physically bullied the DB at the LoS for two yards of separation and an EZPZ catch right in his numbers for a very needed 1st down, and the ball bounced right off his hands. Marshall is past his best, but his hands haven't aged. Yet that happened all the same. To a guy that's had six 100-reception seasons.

Drops happen to everyone. I care when they're happening every week.
