In Moncrief's defense, how many games have him and Luck actually played in together? Seems like one of them has always been hurt

Not having Luck didn't make him drop those passes today. Well maybe luck would have helped in the figurative sense, but I prefer receivers who rely on skill 8-)

Gotcha, didn't see that yet, I was busy watching my Saints defense blowing assignments and giving up big plays as afternoon

I don't know how many total he had, I was watching Redzone, but he had two that I saw hit him right in the hands that he dropped. One looked like he was scared he was going to be hit going over the middle.

Man, this is tough... As a Colts fan, I had very high hopes for him BEFORE the crazily overhyped offseason of 2015-16 where he dipped his toes into round 2 startup territory.

The thing is, while he did get tremendously overvalued then, his rookie flashes and his 2nd year production were very real and extremely exciting. He has outstanding measurables, and he legitimately does have a lot of pure talent.

So why has his play seemingly fallen off the past 12 months? I'm not talking about his box score deficiencies, as most of that can be chalked up to erratic QB play and his own injuries, but his play on tape has suffered... Is that a side effect of his myriad injuries? I couldn't tell ya.

I sold my only share of him (along with a First) to get Alshon last year, so I am waiting anxiously with nothing to gain other than pure Colts fandom. I really hope he can get back to 2015 form.

This is actually not a bad comparison. Similar path in fantasy hype and trajectory, for now at least. The drops too, of course.

Just for the record Moncrief only was credited with 1 drop on 56 pass attempts last year... 1.79% rate, which was one of the lowest in football and about half the drop rate of Odell Beckham. In 2015 he had 2 drops in 105 targets for a drop rate of 1.9%. Pretty much everyone you covet has a worst drop rate.

I'm not going to be a Moncrief apologist, but you may be pitching a false narrative based on watching one game. I think he basket catches too many passes myself, but drops are not what is being suggested here. He's actually got one of the better drop percentages in the NFL over the past two seasons.

Nope...if only you had listened to the countless people on here telling you he wasn't any good. Good luck getting a 2nd for him now.

I'd still buy Moncrief shares for a 2nd if I have the pick to spare.

He wasn't as good as he looked before and he isn't as bad as he looks now. Nothing wrong with having him as a flex guy or rb3 once luck gets back.

He isn't the only guy in the world to struggle without their main qb around.

Just saying what I saw. They were important situations, 3rd down on a 15 yard pass and for the first and such. I've always been down on him so on the channel that shows all the big plays all I saw was him messing up.
