Re: The problem with Amari
He looked pretty darn good to me. Good hands, got open, ran well after the catch, got yards after contact. Carr missed him a few times too when he was open, not terrible misses but a ball where you say Cooper should have caught that.
Re: The problem with Amari
Well he got 19 targets so there was certainly volume. He looked quick and strong out there though, however there were a couple of iffy drops as well.
The scary part to his 44 point fantasy night is there where two plays where he was open for ~50 yard TDs deep and Carr underthrew him (one of which resulted in him drawing a pass interference call in the endzone). It could have been even bigger. He was wide open in the endzone on the last play too but Carr was looking the other way.

I just traded Cooper for a projected mid 2018 1st 3 days ago. I feel sick... please let him go back into the basement.

Re: The problem with Amari
Fantasy football's biggest disappointment will continue to live up to his name Week 7 against the Chiefs and is best left out of starting lineups. Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper, while a more active part of the game plan in Week 6, is going to see a lot of Chiefs shutdown cornerback Marcus Peters on Thursday and simply will not see the ball come his way much. Cooper has routinely struggled with drops, getting open against elite corners, and putting up any sort of respectable fantasy stats, all of which he will not be changing any time soon. Cooper is a low-floor WR4 for Week 7.
The blurb from rotoworld 12 hours ago, life moves pretty quickly.
Side note, team in sig is currently 4-2 and was offered ARob straight up for Cooper a week ago, declined it real quick.

Re: The problem with Amari
He dropped what, 3 easy passes?
Still can't complain about that amazing production but he's not going to sustain 19 targets a game. I still felt like he would bounce back, but I definitely don't think all his problems are solved.

Re: The problem with Amari
The question now is whether to hold and hope this game improves his confidence and he starts producing more consistently or to sell high. I can't believe my dumb luck tonight though -- OBJ on IR, Hopkins on a bye and Parker hurt forced me to play Cooper tonight. Wow. Thank you Fantasy gods!
Re: The problem with Amari
Something to consider, many teams have put on to tape how to stop Coop and take him away (play physical).
The Chiefs played off all night and let him run around which is exactly why he was able to get open so often.
If other teams are smarter than the Chiefs, they will get physical with him.

Re: The problem with Amari
He showed signs of turning it around last week. 2 catches for 50+ yards were negated by penalties, one being a great 31 yard grab. If the penalties hadn't occurred, his line would have been 7/80

Re: The problem with Amari
I traded for Amari right before week two and paid a pretty high price of Alshon, a 2018 1st, and a 2018 2nd. This week was therapeutic after weeks and weeks of lowball offers.
Hopefully this is the game he needed to get over the yips.

Re: The problem with Amari
Maybe so, but I don't think softer coverage leads to a 211 yard game. Cooper had some drops, but played a great game. There's only so long a talent like him will continue to struggle long-term.Phaded wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2017 3:36 am Something to consider, many teams have put on to tape how to stop Coop and take him away (play physical).

Re: The problem with Amari
Exactly. They gave him free releases and let him use his agility in space. That's exactly what he wants. He destroys zone coverage.Phaded wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2017 3:36 am Something to consider, many teams have put on to tape how to stop Coop and take him away (play physical).

He's lucky he didn't see much of Peters tonight. He feasted on some bad CBs.
