Survivor Pool Week 2

Postby Ruggenater » Tue Sep 12, 2017 8:38 am

Congrats to all who didn't pick the Pats and made it through week 1!

Who are you going with for week 2?

I used the Steelers last week, and I'm strongly leaning towards Oakland (playing the Jets) this week. They're in a tough division and don't appear to have much future value. The biggest line on the week will probably be with Seattle over San Fran, but that feels like a trap game to me.

I agree the Seattle/San Fran game is a trap. My money is on the Cardinals over the Colts this week even without DJ. On a separate note, How are the Steelers favored by 7 points against the Vikings this week? I'd put my money on the under for sure.

Seattle vs SF is absolutely not a trap. They could legit match the 10 sacks Jacksonville got last week, our O-Line is that bad. It's in Seattle, it's going to be extremely loud, and Seattle is going to be extremely pissed off that they lost to Green Bay. Our defense is a joke too btw and we won't have Reuben Foster.

That said, I'd rather use Oakland this week and save Seattle for week 4 vs the Colts.

Whats the over under? I think that line of 7 is right where it should be. Vegas does not usually over react to Week 1 games, its why they are the experts. MN d is meh on the road and their offense won't be playing the Saints, though I think they will do ok. I would take the Steelers and give the points on that one if i had to.

I am going with OAK at home vs the pathetic JETS who have to travel across the country which is never easy. This might be a theme I do for a while, take who ever is going against the JETS if the team is half decent. So that means MIA in week 3 more than likely :-)

I think Tampa at home vs banged up WR corps of Chicago also looks good.

Agree with Oakland this week. Love picking a big home favorite when the away team has to travel across the country. Would be tempted by Zona normally, but not with DJ out now.

I think you could take whoever plays the Colts each week and be ok, until Luck gets back but I'll probably go with Oakland, like was already said, the AFC West is a really tough division so they won't have as much future value.

Oakland (@home vs. Jets) is a slam dunk this week. Don't overthink this week.
Other options are going with Tamp Bay (@home vs. Chi), Baltimore (@Home vs. Cle).

Arizona is @Indy. Even without Luck I'm not touching that one. Palmer looked awful and DJ injured. 538 updated that line to Indy -1, won't be a big line at all.

THIS!

There is no other game I would feel 100% confident taking Oakland at home over the jets. Take the lock pick and move on.

Seattle is a great pick too but they have a home game week 4 vs the Luck-less Colts. So save them for then.

Easy week

Oakland is the safe pick..
But I used them last week.

I might go Tampa, there are not many tempting matches.

Oakland or Seattle for me, two of my top 5 or 6 teams playing my two worst teams. Don't overthink the matchups

Oakland is an overwhelming choice and it will almost certainly be my choice. In my survivor pool I will almost surely pick against the Jets almost weekly--much like I did last year with Cleveland.

Another game I am thinking about is Carolina at home against Buffalo. In my opinion Buffalo struggled just a little with the Jets last week and I do think Carolina is a much better team.

I see a lot of people thinking Tampa over Chicago--I'm not sure I would do that. Will Tampa win? Probably. Is it a better choice than say Carolina over Buffalo? I do not think so. Chicago with virtually no passing attack to speak of kept pace with Atlanta --one of last year's Superbowl participants. Tampa doesn't have that one completed game under their belt and maybe just a little rusty--. Again I repeat I expect Tampa to win but I do not think it is the slam dunk some are claiming--
