Survivor Pool Week 1

Postby pokerface40 » Mon Sep 04, 2017 5:40 am

Who you guys got week 1 in your survivor pools? I have a few I'm debating on:

BUF v NYJ: If Tyrod plays I'd be tempted to take the Bills as one of their only wins this year.

PITT @ CLE: Division game on the road is tough to take week 1 in survivor, but you gotta think PITT takes this easily.

ATL @ CHI: Falcons 'should' win here, but maybe a SB hangover make it risky

LAR v IND: This is my sneaky pick that I'm probably rolling with. Nice Rams D at home against Tolzein or Brissett? Would be great to advance to week 2 using them here to save stud teams for later.

* I will note my pool has 2 strikes so I can be a bit more risky. If I was going chalk would most likely take PIT.

I'm in one survivor pool and I picked the Steelers. I know that it should be the chalk pick but I can't see them losing at Cleveland, although it won't shock me if the Browns keep it respectable.

Had to go check who I picked. Riskier, but I've gone for the Panthers at the 49ers. I assumed this was because I can't see the 49ers being anything good this year, and I think the Panthers have a nice bounce back year - but I can't claim to remember my thought process at the time

Its actually a tough week considering the mystery of a new season. I try to stick to my rule of no road teams or divisional rival games. I obviously think teams like Pitt, Atl, and Car will win, but i also have a gut feeling at least one will lose. Happens nearly every year it seems. The Bills i am not comfortable with at all and the Jets will play them tough. I actually like the Pats in a way, though KC seems like a formidable opponent. New England has their number and opening night dont see them losing. Probably not the popular choice, but thats what i like in survival.

Rams over a Luckless Colts team or Houston over Jax. I cant see Houston losing at home to JAX after all that has happened in Houston the last few weeks. They will be playing for an entire city.

I actually thought about Houston for that exact same reason but decided to go with a chalk pick. That's a good one though.

I think Pittsburgh is a pretty safe bet week 1, but Ben's road struggles kind of worry me but then it's the Browns and Kizer's first start.

I like Houston too, Bortles threw for less than 100 yards last time in Houston. Just hard to put my faith in Tom Savage against a much improved on paper Jaguars defense. But it should still be a curb stomping.

Originally had Panthers over niners but this has trap game written all over it. Going to go with atl over chi.

I'm down to Atl over Chi or Pitt over Browns. Pretty sure it will end up Atl over Chi, which is painful since I'm a Bears fan.

This was my exact thought. I don't like the Rams at all this year but I think this will be one of the easiest games for them to win.

Going with the Rams. The Colts are unlikely to have the advantage anywhere and are playing in LA. I'm willing to go down if the Rams don't win, and simply laugh at them.

The pool I'm in is small so being safe is the smarter play. I'm currently on Pittsburgh for week 1.

My pick is new england for this week. Can't see them losing opening night.

Week 1 is always tough, so I like going with the safest choice.

I agree with the above that I try to steer clear of picking the road team or divisional games but for Week 1 this year I thought the safe bet was to go with the Steelers. Too many reasons to like them in this matchup..
