This really surprised me. It's not that I'm thinking that Williams would be a top 10 RB but you would think that the Bills would want to see if there's a chance that he's capable of being a future starter, especially with all of the mileage on McCoy. With the moves that the Bills have made, like not really trying to keep Gillislee or Gilmore, trading Watkins, Darby, now releasing Williams with really no one proven behind McCoy. These are some real head-scratching moves, imo.

They're trying to totally bag it a la the Browns and Jets before them. Full-blown tanking is more accepted (and smarter) these days in pro sports.

As for JW, he's got some game so I expect him to latch on somewhere.

Tolbert isn't good, Joe Banyard and Taiwan Jones have barely played in their 5 years in the league. Jones is very small and fast, but Banyard's profile looks a little like Shady except without any hint of success. I guess in a very deep league I would look at Banyard, but they gotta get someone else if Shady goes down. CJ Spiller?

They have two fullbacks on the roster, I guess Tolbert is going to be the backup RB. He has a career 3.8 YPC so I don't expect that plan to last long.

Second year pro that showed well in the preseason. Tough to figure out this decision, especially as an owner Having said that, what landing spots look good on paper? I don't see him going unclaimed.

They will be drafting a rb next year with one of their 9 picks in the first three rounds. Maybe Barkley. Qb probably too since Tyrod is obviously not a favorite of theirs. Williams is definitely a surprise, but there has to be a decent reason behind it since money was not an issue with him right now.

Agree that this one was a huge shocker. Along the lines of the Hawks cutting Kasen Williams for those of you who may have seen his preseason work. Kasen already signed by Cleveland, and Jonathan will land with a better organization. There's really nowhere to go but up from the Bills and Jets these days.

Somewhere Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, and Andre Reed are crying a little bit. And the Patriots are laughing at the bleep-show that is the AFC East in 2017.
