As someone who is from the Gulf Coast and owns a home in an "X" flood zone I wanted to offer some help to those of you that are going through the storm in Texas right now.
I am a F&B manager at a beach-front hotel in Orange Beach, AL (7 hours east of Houston) and I can help arrange hotel rooms at any IHG (Holiday Inns, Crown Plaza, Indigo) property in the world through my friends and family price, if you come stay at my property I can get you rooms for next to nothing.

Hurricane Ivan here in 2004 was a strong Cat-3 and it put 4ft of water in our current house, but we live on the island. It's gonna be bad for anybody living within 20 miles of the coast over in Texas. If it was here I know we'd be getting out.
