Every year backup RBs seemingly come out of nowhere (Rob Kelley? WTF) to help someone win their league. Who are you all targeting this year as the last player on your bench? Now seems like the perfect time to pick one or two of these guys up.
Go ahead and vote on the poll, post a list of your favorites, start a discussion on some of the guys. I tried to limit the list to guys owned in less than 1.0% of ESPN leagues, but obviously there are many others (I'm not including guys like Tevin or Prosise because they are universally owned in all dynasty leagues).
Some guys I'm considering: De'Angelo Henderson, Tim Hightower, Robert Turbin, Chris Johnson, Donnel Phumphrey, Malcolm Brown, Elijah McGuire, Ryan Mathews, Damien Williams, Brandon Oliver, Zach Zenner, Corey Grant

Re: Backup/Handcuff RBs (Poll)
I voted for B. Oliver - not necessarily to reflect the overall Dynasty value, but to chose the RB most likely to help you win your league.
He's the clear-cut handcuff to M. Gordon in my opinion (who's had injury problems), which already sets him apart from most RB's on your poll. In addition, he's flashed the ability to produce when given the opportunity (again, more than most of those RB's can say). Finally, they team / coaches / system definitely favor a feature-back, when many teams would employ a RBBC.

I would rather have Jonathan Williams from buffalo.. looks good thus far and he can sustain value in that system.. gillessee didn't do too bad while in that role.

Re: Backup/Handcuff RBs (Poll)
I can echo these answers. I've tried to acquire JWill in most leagues I'm in. I did notice the fact that you are looking at <1% owned, and I can imagine he is above that mark. If you can get him for a 3rd, I think that is still stealing.
Oliver would be the guy I'm targeting out of that top group. He has good hands, and is used in the receiving game when he is healthy.
Other than that, I would throw a dart at D. Williams. With Ajayi having no cartilage in his knees, I don't see him playing 16 games. One wrong hit to the knees, and he is not the starter anymore. I may be in the minority here, but I'd be hesitant to own Ajayi at a top 8 RB status right now. I just am very hesitant to get behind him at his price. Dudes a freak, but can he withstand 16 games??

Re: Backup/Handcuff RBs (Poll)
I went with Turbin. Gore will eventually slow down and I expect Turbin will get the bulk of the work when that happens. If we're going based on current value, I probably go with Hightower because he's free and is likely the beneficiary if Hyde goes down.

Re: Backup/Handcuff RBs (Poll)
Brought a smile to my face that Corey Grant was the JAX handcuff option. What wonders a 2nd half preseason game performance can have.
None of the options get me excited. I suppose Zenner and Oliver are the best from the list but they face internal competition for that 2nd spot, so it might be Andre Williams and/or Dwayne Washington who emerges as more valuable there, and they're most likely on waivers as well.

Re: Backup/Handcuff RBs (Poll)
I think Buck Allen should be on this list. I just picked him up last week in my league and it will be hard for me to cut him with only Terrance West infront of him for early down work. Plus he has good hands out of the backfield but that could be limited because of Danny Woodhead.
Re: Backup/Handcuff RBs (Poll)
Assuming Fournette is the starter, Yeldon should be on the list as a favorite. Voted for McGuire. You should allow for multiple answers, not just one on this poll.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

OP didn't say it explicitly but pretty sure this is a list of backup RBs that are likely on waivers. Obviously you'd rather have Jonathan Williams or any of the new rookie backups like Foreman or Mack, but those guys are all going to be on rosters.ROSSCO7777 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2017 1:23 pm i can think of 5 better ones than those listed here...idk how you formulated this list lol
