Landry without tannehill

Postby Meretc01 » Thu Aug 03, 2017 9:34 pm

So.. let's say tannehill is done for the year..
Now.. Jarvis Landry is my topic of discussion..
Jarvis Landry is sub par at best athletically (by NFL standards) for a WR but the man knows how to play the game of football with elite vision.
13th WR last year in PPR
94 catches 1100 yards 4 TDs

With Matt Moore
Landry
3 -108 -1
3-29-0
7-84-1
15 targets
Parker
1-17-0
4-85-1
5-45-0
17 targets
Stills
1-52-1
3-35-1
4-41-1
18 targets

So.. my question is... Will he still be the number 1 and what about his outlook after this year?
Theyre not trying to get a deal done this year and he might be on his way out if Miami..
And personally he's awesome for fantasy but on the football side, I'm not sure he will be highly targeted in FA...
Should we trade him after his first "big" game? Are you guys still high on him and his outlook?

I am leery of Landry going forward with or without Tannehill, but being a free agent after the year should calm your worries if you believe in him going forward. For this yer, the answer depends on what the fins do at QB.
Matt Moore -> downtick for all Dolphins but not a huge one
Jay Cutler starts -> same value for Landry, slight uptick for Parker (more his style of WR).
Kaepernick -> probably helps Ajayi, bad for the WRs.
Ossweiler signed after cut -> Probably doesn't beat out Matt Moore, but if he plays it is bad for everyone.
Bridgewater (long shot, but vikes may be willing to move one of their contract year guys) -> playing style says uptick for Landry, but history with Parker makes it a question mark.
ETA- Bradford (obv also a longshot) - would be fantastic for Landry, the rest of the offense not so much.

Did I miss any possibilities?

Hundley And McCarron are both in contract years but I'm not entirely sure

His best ability is reliability. When the running game fails & no one is open down field. The game gets alot easier when you could dink & dunk short passes for a few yards & get the chains moving. Everyone is quick to dismiss Landry because of his athletic profile. But their is a market for what he does well & if he was the #2 I think he would go back to more return duties. His skillset isn't just unique to Miami. If he becomes a free agent & goes anywhere ppl will prop him up. I feel his value will go up & the QB behind center effects Stills/Parker more.

So I guess A. brown is just a #2 according to you guys? My point is, Landry is misused in that offense and he has a bottom tier ex-WR throwing to him... Landry can go to plenty of places and get a immediate boost in value. Never thought I would see this especially about someone with that good of footwork and skill. Landry seems to be underrated by most. I hope my leagues I thinking the same thing and don't understand the stud they have in Landry. So hope he moves on from Miami....

People have been questioning Landry since he left LSU and all he's done is gotten better and better. He can thrive in any system, I don't get the concern.

I like Landry still, more worry about Parker trying to adapt and continue to grow with another QB.

Much more important, if the rumors of Cutler prove true, my Avatar gets some new life.
