YPA would leave you thinking Brady & Carr go deep a lot relative to the league average. They do not. Cutler hit 47.4% of his 20+ DoT throws compared to Tannehill at 37.2% Parsing the data down to left vs right is ridiculous when Cutler had not even 200 passes last season..
That was career data, not last season, also wasn't my stat, take it up with Scott Barrett

Also where did you get the DoT data? Genuinely curious, I looked all over for it and couldn't find anything
The details are a bit complicated, but in the play by play data on NFLGSIS they include the depth of each pass. I copied the play by play data into a spreadsheet which extracts the data I want and summarizes it.
Gotcha, didn't know the NFLGSIS existed until I just googled it, been using profootballreference for almost all of my stats and just doing the math for other stuff

Not really sure what your point is SORBs but stats are just stats. They speak for the past but not the future or present... you said yourself that Tannehill had Hartline his first 2 years and he posted 74/1083/1 and 76/1016/4. I mean I'll take that for someone I drafted in rounds 8 and 9 in 2 redrafts and for someone I could've traded for pennies and then trade again next year while his cost would be at his height. Honestly not sure why stats are being pulled to go against Parker when this is a very opinionated hobby where honestly most stats are laughable. Everything is pointing in the direction that he will have a good year 🤷🏼‍♂️

Well the original point of me making this thread was because I thought expectations should be tempered for Parker since I didn't think his offseason hype was warranted considering just how bad he has been as a route runner and a separator, both in college and in the pros, and even then I still thought his numbers would improve but I never really got what all the fuss was about.

After Tannehill went down with injury people seemed to think the hype was now justified because the Dolphins added Cutler (Cutler's wife literally had to convince him to join the team, dude's clearly not invested at all mentally) and Cutler has such a good deep ball (spoiler, he doesn't) and that he had a couple good throws in the preseason (it was really just the one 72-yarder) and even in that game he targeted Thomas, Landry, and Ajayi before he even threw the ball to Parker so it's not like he's really locked-in on the guy.

Now I just don't get how he went from being expected to improve (my guess was 70-930-7) to being an 80+ catch, 1000+ yard floor player because he got a downgrade at QB (regardless of other stats Cutler 100% has more turnovers than Tannehill and turnovers kill drives and stifle scoring opportunities) when other players' values would tank because of it and yet Parker's seen his ADP go from the early 8th round to mid 5th in PPR.

Alright I gotcha. Makes sense, just saw too many stat lines get thrown out and it felt like everything got muddled. Good to know.

Int's kill drives, but so do 3 and outs. And those just so happen to be Tannehill's specialty

Over his career Tannehill has a first down rate of 34.6%, Brady's is 37.5%, Brees is 37.3%, Luck's is 35.4%, Cutler's is 34.9% so if drives are stalling for the Dolphins with Tannehill under center then it's likely not because of him and if it is then you shouldn't really expect anything different with Cutler

Largely nothing. You could probably get a 3rd-4th for him, but he's wasted talent at this point. When he's on the field, he doesn't get it and hasn't improved at all as a player since coming in. Has all the talent in the world, but doesn't know what to do with it.

So much talent... wasted. Speaking out of my bleep but hes probably just content making that NFL rookie money and chilling in Miami. I bet hes not even hurt. Dude is a bust. And hes still clinging to the end of my roster somehow

Yeah I am getting tired of him wasting a roster spot on my team. Was gonna tray and get a 3rd rounder for him. Now the Dolphins are shopping him. Wondering if I should get whatever I can or wait and see if he gets traded. If you could get a early-mid 3rd would you trade or wait to see?

Even if he gets traded, no team is going to prioritize him. I'd just get what I can and move on.

I would (and am) holding to see if he gets traded. You aren’t gonna get any more for Miami Parker today vs Miami Parker after the trade deadline. If he gets moved to a WR needy offense, then you could prob get something for him.

Situation 1 - he stays in Miami and his value stays meh.

Situation 2 - he goes to a WR needy team like the Bills and his value maybe increase due to him becoming the “top WR” somewhere.

Situation 3 - he goes to a team that already has an established WR1 where Parker will “flourish” as the WR2.

Hoping for situation 2 or 3 to try to pawn him off on someone. I would snap accept a 2nd at this point. Anything lower than that, I would just hold out hope for Parker. I mean he is a former 1st round pick in his 3rd year.

I’d hold to see if he gets traded to the Cowboys. They need to do something at WR and he would easily be the most talented WR in Dallas.

Not saying he’s going to be a stud, but his 6-134 night last night wasn’t too shabby. Yes 50 of it came on a fluke play, but 5-80 is still better than what he’s been doing to this point. And it wasn’t all in garbage time either... he had 50 yards at halftime.
