Buy Low on Hyde?

Postby dlf4lyfe » Tue Jul 25, 2017 1:51 pm

So much negative press on Hyde right now. Even one report that he might be a surprise cut. I am not a huge fan, but if he is in fact the 49ers starting RB this season in Shannahan's offense, I feel like he could be a nice RB2/3. Is now a good time to capitalize and buy low on Hyde? What do ya'll think the going price is for him right now in terms of 2017 or 2018 picks?

I'd buy for a late 1st or early 2nd...the talent is there. He was phenomenal when healthy.

In January I purchased Hyde for the team in my sig for Doctson and Pick 23 for Hyde and a 2018 3rd.

Yesterday in a superflex I traded John Ross and a 2018 2nd for Hyde, Alex Smith and a 2018 3rd.

I do like Hyde's talent, and I do believe he has a career year under Shanahan, and in his contract season.

I'd try to buy low right now...seems like a good time. I still think he'll probably be worth around a late 1st to most owners.

I was advocating buying low on Hyde earlier in the season, but now it's getting to the point where there may be fire to the smoke. It would still be really surprising if the 49ers cut or traded him and rolled with Hightower and Williams.

I will go on record and say there is 0% chance he gets cut. He makes less than $1 mill. He's by far their best RB. Just a bunch of TMZ blurbs.

Yea, I have a hard time seeing them cutting him, unless he's some kind of cancer off the field or in the locker room...as far as I know, he hasn't had any issues of that sort.

Yeah, there won't be a better time than now to buy. If only the owners in my leagues were even somewhat panicking about it. I like the idea of paying a late 1st/early 2nd for him right now. He'll either be productive in SF or go somewhere else to do it.

I doubt he gets cut. Like others have said hes pretty cheap. I could see him being dealt though and im sure a team that is trading for him is looking to use him.

Packers, Colts, Ravens would all be good spots

He was just traded in a league I'm in.
Zach Zenner, Noah Brown, 2 '18 1sts, '19 1st and a '19 2nd
For
Carlos Hyde and Corey Coleman
All 3 1sts look to be mid to late in a 16 team league, the 2nd could be early.

I offered a 18 1st for Hyde and Marty B and was told to basically kick rocks.
12 team league.
In 3 years of the league my pick has been a top 5 1st each year.
So either this owner is very high on Hyde or he's just having a bad day

I was offered Hyde and Coleman for Melvin Gordon and I turned it down.

I think someone above said he was "phenomenal" but I never saw that. He was young and a starter, which is where his value came from, but I think he was always overrated. I haven't seen him show much in the way of talent. I don't know that Joe Williams is a realistic option but I do believe the part of the rumor that says Hyde isn't a great fit for the new system. So to me what you are calling a "buy low" opportunity is where his value should have been in the first place. I do own him in a league or two and I will probably hold.

No offense but trying to get both of those players for one 1st seems a bit light.

I'd buy low. Super talented back. Doubt he gets cut and if he does fine with me! He'd look good as a raven. He will be a starter this year. Maybe not In the bay, but somewhere he will be
