“I’m not coming back to play, it’s too much of a toll on my body.”

That should be all anyone needs to read.
The guy was constantly playing through ankle/knee issues late in his career and I can't imagine that is fun on a losing team. Can't see any way he returns. I think I take chances on guys and I held him for a few months last year but held Lynch all year.
All retirements are not equal and I think Calvin is one of those that retires and stays retired...it wasn't just an excuse to get away from the Lions but a combination of that and the constant battle to stay healthy

Voted 0% and then still picked him up off waivers. Expanded offseason rosters, why not ¯\_(ツ)_/ ¯

I agree almost zero chance for me. If he did come back I would hope it would be at a team that actually has a chance of winning don't see the point of rejoining the Lions!

It is the lowest number that is feasible. I don't understand why people are clamoring for a negative %.

Maybe people expect him to retire from life, becoming even further removed from a football return...
Still doesn't add up...

True, but Marshawn said the same thing:

"I'm done. I'm done," Lynch said. "I enjoyed my time playing. Now it's time to watch my cousins do they thing."

"I'm retired, is that good enough?" Lynch said. "I'm done. I'm not playing football anymore."

Even if Marshawn hadn't come out of retirement (which probably makes some of us think Calvin could as well), it just sounds like Calvin would strongly consider playing again if the Lions let him out of his contract (whether it be by releasing or trading him). There are worse WW stashes to roll the dice on

Lynch moved to the beat of his own drummer....Calvin I don't see that in his make-up. Not that I know anything about either personally

Comparing those two as humans (character) is not going to come up with much similarity other than they are good at football. Maybe he would consider it but if you are DET what incentive do you have to release him...trade ? someone paying a 1st for an 11M dollar contract? OAK can afford it but I am not sure how DET lets Calvin go when they could use Calvin.

Lynch is an entirely different story...he quit on the Hawks I think the second Wilson fired that pass on the goaalline in the SB. I think the Hawks knew it too which is why they just let him go

Anyway it isn't impossible but I think Calvin is talking enough that I believe what he is saying isn't about to change overnight

I don't think this is quite fair. Lynch messed up his groin early the following season and required surgery. Hard to gauge his level of interest, or effectiveness when he's rehabbing from an operation. It was the first major injury of Lynch's pro career, and he was feeling pretty beat up. Though you could count the recurring lower back issues a serious issue as well depending on your point of view.

I doubt he comes out of retirement for any team besides Oakland. He wanted to play for the hometown fans and represent the city he loves. But I do believe Seattle was tired of Lynch's personality, the fact that he didn't rehab said injury at the team facility, and then simply didn't get on the plane for the playoff game at Minnesota after being at practice all week. They'd had enough, and what he was bringing on the field was no longer worth the hassle.

Couple more waivers have run and a few more Calvin Johnson shares have been added by owners in my league(s) - from 3 to 6 now.

Even if you believe the answer is 0% here is a thought - assuming you had a spot available, and could acquire him for $1, theoretically you could sell him to someone who DOES believe he has a shot at coming back for a profit ... but missed waivers or was asleep at the wheel ... whether or the profit is worth the effort is a different story ...

Probably zero, but there are probably worse lottery tickets to have sitting on your offseason roster, especially if you're rebuilding.

Before Lynch returned I would have voted 0% myself but I went with 1-5% instead.

Galvatron was a beast. Dude blasted start scream to smithereens!

Seriously though Megatron won't and probably can't come back. Lions won't give up his contract, and he didnt want to hurt his body anymore. He has chronic ankle, knee, and had tonnes of undisclosed concussions. He days he took pain killers everyday, he hatred it. He won't come back

I don't expect it to happen, but I grabbed him off waivers in both of my leagues just in case. If he does come back, I'll be looking to flip him ASAP.
