My concern isn't the "USC-WR" thing, it's the "Steelers-WR2" thing. Seems we've had a parade of guys come through like Wheaton, Coates, Rodgers etc. who we put fantasy hope on but Brown, Bell and the low passing volume in PIT just makes it hard to find useful fantasy production beyond Brown.

Note: I selected him in the early 2nd round in one league and felt meh about that.

He went 12 in my draft. He is the youngest of the receivers in this class. I don't trust MB so he has a chance to produce right off. I would take him after John Ross but before Godwin. I have him and Godwin pretty even. Godwin is cheaper though but Smith Schuster is really young. Production wise Godwin had the better production in college. I'd say Smith Schuster has a little more potential though.

I loved him as an underclassman. But he sort of didn't continue developing after his second year in college. So now JSS has me a bit torn as a dynasty prospect. He's got some markers that correlate with future pro greatness, but it's not visible on his actual tape (yet?).

With his struggles releasing against press, right now JSS is profiling as a 'big slot' receiver. However, JSS doesn't have the route-craft and instincts against zone-coverage to be a great slot-receiver.

So many good players or decent situations I can understand why he is dropping but I do think he should be the WR4 in this class after Ross. I would take him before the non-OJ Howard TE's but right in the area of Perine/Hunt/Kamara so if you need RB I don't fault guys for taking one of those 3 over him or 3QB's in 2QB or superflex. When guys like Joe Williams/Jamaal Williams/Kizer are going before him I am trying my best to trade in for him.

I like JuJu a lot and traded up to 1.10 to take him the DLF Premium League. He had a "down" year last year, but people forget that it took 4 games for USC to realize they should be playing the clearly better QB. Once Darnold started playing, JuJu's numbers went right back up to where they should be. I don't really care about the "USC WR" thing at all. Ben possibly retiring soon is a concern though, so I can see that part of it worrying people.

There's still this idea out there that anyone who runs fast can't really catch.

It's easier to just regurgitate DHB initials than learn about prospects.

Really like Juju. Had 1.05 and 1.11 and was planning on taking him at 1.11 even tried trading up but no takers. He was selected at 1.08 in my league. Looks like a solid receiver all around. Really like Michael Thomas last year for the same reasons glad I "reached" on him then too in a few leagues haha

The hate on JuJu is real. I just picked him up with the 3.07 (35th pick) and a few weeks back with the 2.09 (25th) in my IDP rookie drafts where defensive players almost never get drafted until the mid 2nd. Both times I felt compelled to take him because he was being so heavily discounted but now I'm wondering if I'm the sucker.

Juju's value is likely to go down, he'll be forgotten about like Carroo and you can pick him up cheaper next year. This is my prediction. Just a name to remember for a long-term stash.

Let’s talk... Juju

Postby Shcritters » Thu Oct 26, 2017 7:15 pm

So Bryant is a knucklehead, Brown is a stud but won’t be forever, and Juju comps to Nuk Hopkins. What saw we? Is he a future WR1 that can be had for relatively cheap? Obviously a lot can change once Roth retires.

Thoughts?

I don't see Nuk as a comp, personally. Maybe a middle class Dez? I think he's a solid prospect and would buy at his current price.

I think the one that I’ve heard, that makes sense to me, is Hines Ward.
