I absolutely love the kid. I had him rated as my #2/3 WR in this draft. His down-field blocking is something that's going to help him get on the field more. I love his "win first" attitude (once said he doesn't care if he gets 0 catches as long as the team wins).

Excited that he went to Detroit. I think he's going to be special. I got him everywhere that I could.

Thought this was amusing...got a text from my dad who just had dinner with my soon to be mother-in-law, her niece (VP of Marketing for the Lions) and her boyfriend (Assistant Coach for the Lions). I told him to ask about Kenny and this is what they said:
They are apparently high on their third round pick, Kenny Golladay. Said he is very quiet, works hard...says he tells them that he understands everything they are telling him, but because he's so quiet, they aren't always sure he does...but so far it's only rookie camp. Don't start real workouts until later this month.
I also own Zenner and Riddick but didn't get any nuggets about either of them, unfortunately.

Golladay is a solid prospect in my prediction model. Picking him up late 2nd or third is just the right value where if he DOES develop it will be worth it. His metrics are outstanding, he went to a small school but one with an excellent winning tradition and excellent coaching. In Detroit you have Tate and Jones starting, too replacement level players that will never be much more than what they are. At least with Golladay they have a player with quality upside and the size/speed combo to be an outside starter and a solid WR1/WR2 within 3 years.

I like Golladay but don't go overboard on him. Boldin likely coming back this season as well. I much prefer someone like Cooper Kupp, Godwin, and Chad Williams. Williams also a third rounder who is more physical than Golladay.

You don't know what 'replacement level' means.

Umm...I'm pretty sure Boldin is not re-signing with Detroit...where you getting that from?

I had 2.07 - traded down to 2.09 and then 2.11 picking up extra picks (this year and next) and grabbed him there. Very happy, as I wanted to draft him, and wouldn't have been around at 3.11

You had him ranked with Mike Williams?

Golladay went at 22 in my draft as the 7th WR taken. I took Godwin (9th WR) at 24 and Kupp (10th WR) at 27.

Golladay

Postby purplepride28 » Sun Aug 13, 2017 11:51 am

Isn't under the radar anymore😢

Was hoping he'd fall to me in the 2 round of a 16 team league. Don't see that happening now.
