I gave Howard a chance of being a TE1 as a rookie, but this isn't really shocking. Brate is not a blocker and Howard developed into a very good blocker in college.

Re: Most Athletic Rookie TE
I'll throw my hat into the ring.
For fantasy purposes I like Engram the best. He is a very, very good receiver and should pile up yards over his career. Hopefully he can get into the end zone as well.
Njoku is a close 2nd on my list. His plays like a man possessed on the field. Njoku has the killer instinct to force the ball into the end zone, much like Reed does. This is where his athleticism really shines. He would be my #1 but landed on one of the league's historically inept franchises.
OJ Howard has all the metrics that make people drool. He has very little production to go with it. From the film I watched, part of the issue may be how easily Howard gets tackled. He doesn't seem to have much fight in him for a guy his size, and that could limit his TDs.
Jonu Smith I have at #4. Very good on-field athlete. Gets open and shows solid aggression with the ball in his hands. While ranked at #4, he was actually my #3 in my league's rookie auction, as I see Howard as being a potential bust. Njoku, Engram and Smith are nearly bust proof in my eyes. Maybe they don't become the best of the best, but I expect them all to be fantasy relevant.
Everett is also really, really good. He is so far down my list for only one little reason. A tiny thing. Well, two tiny things. Everett has absurdly small hands. How does a guy that stands at 6' 3" have hands that small? And I believe the impact of this shows up in his college film. His receiving ability is good, but not great. More importantly, I saw him fumble the ball on several occasions when taking big hits on crossing routes. Draft Breakdown has limited games to watch, but I saw enough to let someone else spend their money on him.
Several others looked good, but didn't appear to be special players. More like the career 500-600 yard per season guys.

Best athlete is Engram, followed closely by Everett. With that said, Howard and Njoku may become the best TEs from this class.

Howard owner in my main league dropped him, picked him up off ww to go with Kelce and ErtzBot101 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 11:00 pm...FFFAN wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 10:32 pmHoward 5 for 107 and a score. Let's throw out the uncovered 58 hard touchdown he scored because that's not something you get every year. 4 catches 49 years on 11 targets. He doesn't gain separation with his routes, he doesn't find the soft spot in defenses. Brate who's only 26 and has shown chemistry with every qb Tampa throws in has caught 21 of 30 targets and excels in the red zone.
He's not a great pass catching te. He's a solid football player but he's no te1.
Wish you were the Howard owner in my league...

frustrating part is being 3-3 despite high points, looking at another loss after opponent started cooper/hill/smith last night

You're welcome for the big game from Howard this week, I just cut him in a keeper league for Ricardo Lewis. Sold my other two shares.

I don't even know what you could have gotten for him. Toe lint?
