Startup going on

Postby ImaRounder » Wed Jun 21, 2017 8:58 am

Just started a 14 tm SF .5 PPR TE Premium and points for first down.

Starting reqs:
11 Starters
QB: 1-2
RB: 1-8
WR: 1-8
TE: 1-8

Follow along and comment all you want.

Grabbed OBJ at 1.05 for my first and only share. Had to.

The Game of Thrones theme is awesome, IMO.

Hopefully Mariota will last til your next pick... seeing that it's a SF you'll want to get your QBs in your next two (maybe even three) picks. Since you can start two and it's a 14 team league, having three QBs is a huge advantage.

Completely agree but we will see how it all plays out. There's a ton of value in the fourth and fifth rounds.

It's crazy to me that a 25 year old running back on an eroding team is going top 5 in dynasty drafts.

DJ? I agree. I could never do that.. I basically had the luxury of 1a and 1b in most formats.

I like OBJ at 5. Hard to take Wilson/Cam there I think and 2.10/3.05 you should do OK for QB. Even if you have to wait until 4.10 for one QB you could be OK in case some too good to pass up player is staring you in the face at 2 or 3
DLF HOF League 16 team PPR
QB: Brees, Bradford, Lock(3.07)

TE: Gronk, Swaim, Maxx Williams

That's how I felt too Max. I felt like I would have been reaching by a ton with one of those guys. Without name dropping and giving away too much strategy if I was drafting from a different position I'd have felt a lot more comfortable taking a QB

OBJ/Evans at 5/6 are excellent value in a 12 team SF. In a 14 team SF though, I'm not sure I could have passed on a top QB there.

I tend to like to wait on QBs more than the consensus, I think, in Superflex. I let others reach for young non-elite QBs. But those four extra starting QBs in this format, plus four more bye week spots to cover, are probably enough to make me force it. Probably would have gone one of Wilson/Winston/Mariota/Carr.

That said, it does seem like other teams in your league are waiting too. The RBs going so early, even ahead of OBJ and Evans, are crazy to me. So it's risky, but being responsive to your league mates could pay off if this continues.

Is it just me or is this the slowest moving startup ever?

Slowest ever.

To add, my QB3 and QB4 are off the board. Fantastic.

Ya waiting on Qbs in this format seems like a mistake to me. I'm always early on grabbing QBs, but I feel my teams are better for it in hte long run.

There are a few advocates on this board that will advise you can recommend waiting on QBs in this format but I just can't agree. I don't necessarily have an issue with the OBJ pick where you got him but you had to know there was zero chance your top 5+ QBs would be available to you at your next pick. Carr should be gone before the turn.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Wholeheartedly agree. I have some form of plan and if one of my guys are gone at 24 then I'm going to have to change it up a bit. However I feel okay right now. Not panicking.
