Chargers sign Tre Boston, another safety

Postby austing » Mon Jun 19, 2017 7:33 pm

Is it just me or is the LAC defense looking really good now? Hayward and Verrett at corner and now Boston, King, Jenkens, Addae and Lowery all chasing the safety spots. Not to mention the move to 4-3 utilizing Liuget and Mebane with Ingram and Bosa.

I do like LAC defense from a team defense perspective. a couple shut down corners and awesome rushers like Bosa and Ingram is a good recipe, if they can stay healthy.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

not to mention their LBs with Perryman and Brown. I really like Brown--the dude can fly. Just dont know if he is built to last the whole season. I'm curious to see how they manage the switch from 3-4 to 4-3.

They had a underrated defense last year. Top 10 in our league. Today I dropped the Eagles defense and picked up the Chargers. I have a good feeling about them.

QB/2 RB/2 WR/1 TE/2 Flex/Defense/Kicker

QB: Allen, Watson, Fields
RB: Barkley, Taylor, Harris Chubb
WR: Ridley, Cooper, Thielen, M. Thomas, D. Smith, Boyd E. Moore, R. Moore, Reagor, St. Brown
TE: Kelce, Fant, Engram
Defense: Denver
Kicker: Gay

2022: None
2023: 1st, 1st, 1st, 1st, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 3rd

Personally I'm ecstatic about the switch to 4-3. Without dominant outside linebackers in the pass game and a dominant nose against the run it's been open season on us since the shauns coupled for 28 sacks in a season forever ago. I think our dline and secondary are ideal for the 4-3 and the only downside is still having Kyle Emmanuel at olb, although moving Brown to the other olb spot is great. Perryman is very underrated imo, I think he'll handle the solo middle linebacker job amazingly. In all, our linebackers are above average and don't downgrade with the shift while our line and secondary both benefit with a dedicated pass rush.

Long story short I think the LAC Def puts up top 10 numbers this year in route to the chargers finally starting to earn the first shreds of respect once again from the media and the league.
