Matt Jones
Matt Jones
It appears he is on the verge of being released by the Redskins. Anything to see here?
He's a third round pick with solid metrics and sported a solid 4.6 ypc last year. His biggest flaw is obviously ball security.
I kind of think Gruden was frustrated and pulled the plug too early. Ball security is certainly a fixable part of a backs game. I think he could compete for a starting role in a lesser backfield.

Re: Matt Jones
Giants or he could battle it out with Blount in PHI. Actually probably a few teams that will take a look if he is released. The Jets seem like they are picking up everyone's cuts.
Reality is I don't think he is very good but I think he would get a shot somewhere. Picked him up off waivers in one league where I am short at RB and left him on the wire in a few

Re: Matt Jones
Good I was just able to make this thread. He could go from waiver heap to camp watch list pretty quick here.
My main question is which teams are real RB needy that might take a shot on him?

Re: Matt Jones
The Jets have no one who is any good in their backfield. Then again, given all of their off season moves, they seem hell bent on going 0-16 so bringing someone in to fix their issue may not be the course they choose to take.

Re: Matt Jones
Hes' worth rostering but that doesn't mean he's any good or that he'll produce.

Re: Matt Jones
I could see Colts, Dolphins, Cardinals, Eagles, Giants, Bears. Maybe the most likely is the Rams. They don't have much behind Gurley and McVay is familiar with him
Re: Matt Jones
Wasn't McVay part of the driver for him being benched for a UDFA? I don't think Jones would pick that destination as a result. Familiarity doesn't always mean a good thing.pokerface40 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2017 12:36 pm I could see Colts, Dolphins, Cardinals, Eagles, Giants, Bears. Maybe the most likely is the Rams. Got to figure he's on the outs and any change of scenery could drive a slight value increase. But if he's owned, what could you actually give for him that you don't think is an overpay? I feel like if you don't get him for free, then why bother?
Re: Matt Jones
Yeah I just got him as a throw in but he's still fringe/cut material for me - unless he ends up somewhere amazing.

Re: Matt Jones
You have not watched Bilal Powell. Rewatch him. He can play.
Re: Matt Jones
Not really going out on a limb to not believe in a fringe starter RB with a 7th round ADP. He was a decent stab in the middle rounds and really was on his way to a pretty nice RB2 season if he hadn't fumbled.Dynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2017 7:13 amDynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2015 8:01 pm I swear Matt Jones is the most overrated RB right now. Re: Matt Jones
I didn't realize I wasnt watching these guys play to develop an opinion...?
Go back over the last 6 seasons and demonstrate for me any evidence suggesting the Jets consider Powell a starting caliber RB. Every single season they have brought someone in to start instead of Powell. Now at his age...28 is it? they have suddenly done a 180?
