Alshon for Montee Ball and a 2nd... fml

Drafting Jmatt with the 1.3 in the 2014 rookie draft, ahead of Cooks, OBJ, KB, and Davante.

5 mins later I took Cody Latimer ahead of D. Freeman
All my teams suck. And I'm not in your league.

They came out in different years?
Yea, in what world were they in the same draft? I was thinking it was a startup, but OBJ was already ranked as a/the top dynasty asset by then

Back in 2014, early in the season, I traded OBJ, ARob and Reed for Jimmy Graham. The forum even liked the trade at the time!

Time heals all wounds. Also, that league went through enough changes that it held a new startup draft, so that helped.
This is the best. The thread proof makes it even more . It is so weird to imagine a world where that was a good trade. So much has changed since then for all players involved.

My timeline may be a bit off here, but this my recollection of me refusing to take AB. This is in a standard league where RBs are the kings.

Owner offered AB (and maybe more) for Spiller during Spiller's breakout year. I declined.

He offered again at the beginning of the next year. I thought overnight and verbally agreed, but then he got cold feet and backed out.

3 seasons ago, he offered me Brown for Charles. I got him to add a first but then I got greedy and wanted Bridgewater too. He refused and I wouldn't back down. This guy was always the champ, so the first would be low and he was loaded at WR so I thought giving Charles would make him automatic champ for a couple more years.

He ended up trading AB and DT for Calvin and McCoy a week later.

Drafting Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson back to back years at 1.01.

Good lord those two turds set me back for years. I'd moved on from Ingram by the time he was startable.

Moving on from Jordan Reed at a low (injured for the thousandth time) point... right before he became good. Jerk.

There's more super-busts and mistakes - who doesn't have plenty? But these 3 guys? Hate these 3 guys with a passion!

Especially since two of them ended up on the league's multi-championship team that seems to fleece everyone all the time in trades. That just pisses me off! :wall:

Grabbing David Cobb, while the next pick was David Johnson. I also owned Ellington. Then got taken out in the playoffs by none other than DJ himself.
Also trading away Martavis Bryant for Montee Ball. But that one wasn't nearly as bad.

2011 was our first ever rookie draft, we didn't really know what we were doing.

I had the first two picks in the 4th round. I proceeded to take Vincent Brown (aka "the most NFL ready WR of the class" according to many) and Kendall Hunter (San Fran RB?). Randall Cobb went at 4.03 and DeMarco Murray went at 4.04...

Those two picks have haunted me for years.

Disclaimer: not trying to be douchey and divert the thread, I also drafted Agholor with a late 2015 1st.

Okay, I like the idea of this thread in general but this is a really lazy post without providing any context. Today, 1,000 out of 1,000 would obviously say, "No sh*t" here but

What made you believe, at the time, that DJ was going to be a superstar?
What pick did you have where you chose Agholor instead? DJ from what I remember was going in the Mid-Late 2nds at the earliest in most mocks and even my actual drafts.

If you reply and say that someone you follow (writer/website/etc) was huge on DJ or you did your own scouting and you were big on DJ, then okay. But to say something this vanilla and laced with hindsight is weak without including those details. Considering many probably chose Agholor over DJ without hesitation in 2015.

Looking back on rankings, even DLF, Agholor was consistently ranked as a top 50 prospect overall and his draft position and the Philly landing spot really solidified that status, he literally compares to and was supposed to take over for Jeremy Maclin (https://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/nelson-agholor/). Now what's happened to him is a shame, something that you can't predict or evaluate, someone breaking mentally.
That year, I had picks 12, 13 and 14. I drafted in order Agholar, Perriman, then DJ. If I only had 1 of those picks it would have been DJ, but that would have been more out of necessity as I needed RBs at the time.

What defines a "lazy" post anyways. I mean, I usually post on here while I am dropping the Browns off at the Super Bowl. Is a forum supposed to be an essay contest or are we handing out grades here? I usually even give the grammar police a pass, since sometimes people really do butcher their english. I ask that as a serious question, or maybe this is a "lazy question" or the all-famous "lazy argument" you see thrown around on here so much. As for the topic on hand, I believe a lot of this could be defined as regrets/hindsight, which we all have. It is crazy to see how some of these trades pan out just a year or two later.

My biggest regret was my entire auction draft in the first dynasty league I ever joined, I believe it was just prior to the 2014 season. I drafted Gio, Ellington and Hyde as my main Rb's. I spent a lot on guys like RGIII, Michael Floyd and Justin Hunter. The entire thing was such a mess. I learned a lot from that.

This whole thread is a huge reminder for me to never draft RBs early or pay high prices for them.
