Hold him in deep leagues but don't give up anything if on another roster.

No. I was all-in on him when Belichick showed that he was willing to use Lewis in a workhorse role. However, given his injury issues, NE will limit his snaps to preserve him for key situations even if he's the best all-around RB on the team. There just isn't enough playtime for him to have consistent fantasy production.

ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss expects the Patriots to hold onto Dion Lewis, but in a lesser role.
The Patriots' backfield is well stocked following the additions of Rex Burkhead and Mike Gillislee. Reiss expects the Pats to "carefully manage" injury-riddled Lewis this season, limiting him to 15-20 snaps per game. Reiss did note that Lewis hit the line of scrimmage with "noticeable burst" at Thursday's OTA practice. Lewis is also expected to return kickoffs. May 28 - 8:54 AM

I think it's telling that Lewis and White went into this offseason with basically the same contract left (1yr at about $700-$800k) and the Pats chose to extend White for 3 years $12m while leaving Lewis on the last year of his deal. They also threw around a decent amount of money to both Burkhead and Gillislee again while leaving Lewis just sitting there.

Ouch.

Like many have said, I loved his game when he blew up two years ago. I got him for free in several leagues before it happened. But you just can't trust the combination of his health + Bill Belichick. If he has a good game or two, he'll get a dozen snaps the game you want to start him.

Hate to say it, but he's a long shot. Worthy of a roster space, but if you're counting on starting him, yikes.

I'm a believer in the talent, but the situation is just too crowded. I honestly don't understand how White gets on the field over him. White is a very limited runner and doesn't do anything in the passing game that Lewis can't do. I'm not saying White is a bad receiving back - he's obviously quite capable, but is he better than Lewis? No. But I guess good enough is all it takes when Lewis has earned a glass man label.

Should White or Gillislee get injured, Lewis is an instant RB2. But during the regular season, it seems BB is content to limit his touches so he'll be available during the playoffs.

Anybody else in dynasty having a hard time dropping this guy? I look at him on the roster every Tuesday and it's so hard to click! Those trade talks from two weeks ago renewed my interest....

I see him having a 2/3 solid fantasy weeks. If you have room on your roster and happen to pick those weeks hes helpful, but thats a lot of wishful luck

We still have people who believe in Pats RB's for more than a season?

What's the long-term appeal outside of New England? He's broken his leg, torn his ACL and needed additional knee surgery last season. Maybe you're hoping for a Danny Woodhead/Theo Riddick type situation?

I don't think he can hold up going forward, and it's likely why New England brought in Gillislee and Burkhead, and increased White's role.

I've been trying to trade for him and the owner won't budge. I know he's not getting playing time but he's better than half the starting RBs in the league.
