Kyle Juszczyk... PPR sleeper?

Serious question: is there a reason why he's not getting talked about at all?

Obviously I'm not gonna expect that he'll be much of a runner, but is it crazy to think he could have similar numbers to a Theo Riddick or Shane Vereen? I'm not comparing styles at all, just from a stats standpoint.

If I remember correctly, he was one of the highest-paid RBs in free agency this offseason, and there aren't many proven pass catchers in San Fran.

he's a FB who has never had more than 41 catches in a season who used to be on a better offense than he is now with a better QB so I'm gonna say no

I guess if we're trying to compare the Niners offense to the Redskins offense with Shanahan (which it's really no comparison), I'd venture to say that Jusczyk's ceiling is probably Chris Thompson maybe?

Jusczyk was picked up in a lot of my leagues when he signed with the Niners but once SF signed Hightower, drafted Williams, and then we cycled the rookies into the player pool, he was then dropped in most of said leagues.

I don't have much interest in him right now in standard sized leagues, but he could be an intriguing stash in 14-16 team or larger PPR leagues. Finding an 8-10pt spot starter in a pinch can be much more difficult in larger leagues, and if Jusczyk carves out some type of consistent small pass catching role then that's something he could become.

John Lynch probably sees him as his Mike Alstott. I still got him stashed in some deep leagues.

What does McDonald matter? I don't see how his being there would effect Juszczyk one way or another. Regardless, I don't think he's worth a spot right now except in the deepest of rosters, but he's not a bad guy to keep on the watch list and see how and how much he's used this preseason.

Outlet receiver. No other tight end of note on the team. Used in various formations in place of having a tight end on field.

He'll have 2, maybe 3 good games but you won't be able to count on him.

49ers podcast recently were saying he could see 50 to 60 targets this year .. I'll keep an eye on him, but yeah, I only invest in FB/HBack types in large leagues where I need RB help ... 50-60 targets is a sneaky play for sure, but we also heard a similar conversation while he was in BAL...

he had 49 targets last year and 56 the year before, it's not the target volume that worries me with him, it's the fact that his targets are short-yardage high percentage throws that don't go anywhere, averaging 7ish yards per catch on like 40-50 catches a year just isn't enough to bother starting unless it's a VERY deep league
