Not for me, but here are some thoughts.

Starting the playoffs week 11 isn't a good idea as there are a number of teams on bye that week (making selecting players on those teams a disadvantage vs. other players). Best ball would work best for this type of league.

Not a big fan of weeks 1-10 basically not mattering and having single elimination playoffs (fantasy is too random to make it even more random by placing everyone in the playoffs).

Plus for consistency (right or wrong), you need one commissioner, not 4. Too many cooks in the kitchen.

I think you should be able to trade with anyone, but you can't have two or more copies of the same player on one team. They would be separate for their standings, who they play for seeding, and the start up and rookie drafts.
That's kinda what I thought, would the purpose of having 4 separate drafts be to speed it up? Because that's why I asked the limited trade question.

jnappy wrote: Tue May 23, 2017 9:15 am I had an idea for a new league this morning, and I wanted to see if there would be any interest. It would structured like March Madness with four 16-team leagues with separate player pools. The first ten weeks would be the regular season where you get seeded in your league 1-16. Then weeks 11-16 would be a single elimination tourney like March Madness with the winner of each 16-team league meeting in the Final Four in week 15. I was thinking about doing a $20 buyin, and having payouts for high scoring team in each league during seeding, each playoff win, regional champions, overall champion, 2nd, and 3rd overall. Obviously it'd be ambitious to recruit and keep 64 dedicated owners, but I think it could be really cool. What do you guys think. Would there be any interest?
I play in a redraft league with very similar settings. That league has 4 conferences with 11 players each for a total of 44 teams. It is 2 QB with TE premium. Buy in is $200 so prize pool is huge. It pays the high score in each conference, each week $50, conference winners each get $200 and the rest is divied up to the top 8 finishers with the bulk of they payouts for the top 2. All teams make the playoffs with conference winners getting a 2 week bye and then the next x (dont remember the number) finishers, regardless of conference, get one bye. You can only trade and pick up waivers within conference. It is without a doubt my favorite league to play in. He has no problem filling it and whenever a spot opens up (1-3 a year), there is a long list of people who want to get in. If you start up something like this, count me in.

Here is a link to that league if you would like to check out settings:

I would play. However I would want the buy in to be more. Basically your dealing with 4 copies of each player and it makes for a unique strategy in the startup.

If it's $50 I'm in. Want to be worth the startup prep time.

Good post!
I was envisioning four separate startups, one for each 16-team league. Is that what you were thinking as well?

I think if you are going to allow trading between all of the four "seperate" leagues, Then it needs to be an all inclusive 64 team draft, this will allow and encourage more trading in the startup as well.

Have you figured out how you will handle rookie drafts? Will each league have there own based on seeding or all together based on total rankings? Just trying to help you think of some things, if you haven't already.

I haven't and I like what you said in your other post too. A 64-team draft just seems like it would take forever...

Also, seperate drafts and limiting trades and waivers to within that conference makes it easier to expand (should you want to eventually grow the concept) and adds a reallt fun element by watching how the players move in what essentially amounts to a seperate league that you might meet in the playoffs. The 44 team redraft league I am in does it that way and everyone loves it.
