don't listen to reports just draft the player for his talent and hope for rational coaching

Not sure what your 1st statement has to do with you 3rd one?

Who drafts elite TE prospects with the hope of starting them right away? He should be 3rd on the totem poll by next season.
I like his upside and have him as my #1TE in this class.. Should be number #3 sooner then later and I believe he will be #2 option in a few years after Marshall hangs em up .

I totally agree with the previous post that said those statements should be ignored. I follow NYG heavily and there was a lot of talk from fans, and analysts, suggesting that the Giants should've grabbed a total package TE e.g. trading up for howard or drafting njoku. After listening to many of the questions fired at Reese, and McAdoo, I think Sullivan was trying to quash the idea that Engram isnt just a big WR and that he will work hard to block and play inline when need be. Giants 100% know what they got here, they would've taken Njoku if they wanted to use a TE that can play all 3 downs.

What's the coach supposed to say? "All Engram is going to do is catch the ball. Take note defenses across the league that whenever he is on the field we will be throwing the ball."

Thank you everyone for giving your feedback. I picked him at the 2.01 spot. While the coach speak gives me pause I still LOVE the idea of starting a big WR at the TE slot week after week when the other owners are starting traditional TEs.

Here are the first 2 rounds from our rookie draft. Biggest reach - Samaje Perine at 1.6. Best value - Mike Williams at 1.7?

I hope you're not gettting too far ahead of yourself tho. I highly doubt he'll be startable for fantasy until next year at the soonest.

I'm comfortable rolling out Martellus Bennett for a year while Engram gets experience. If I can get good production year 2 I'll be very happy.

Solid plan. I like it! I'm forced to start CJF while I wait for Engram, haha. Yuck.

Im debating him on my team in sig. Need a TE bad, but i hate breaking the bank on one. With 1, 7, 11, and 14, i should prob grab one with one of the latter three picks. Preferably the 14 (2.01).

I only own 1 share of the big 3 TEs, and that's in 3 leagues. I got Engram at 2.02 in my signature team.

Everett is going late 3rd, early 4th. I got 2 shares of him and 1 of Shaheen in the late 4th. I think that might be the smart play.

I like where your head is at Lukky. My next pick after 14 is 25, so may just take a sleeper type there or at 35.

If you really feel like taking a cheap flier, grab Jonnu with your last pick.

He went undrafted in a 12-team, 6-round draft and also in my 12-team 4-rounder

I own Engram and think he will be very good, but one thing I will add is that the Giants added Rhett Ellison from my Vikings.

Ellison is a very very good blocker and an underrated receiver. He was mostly asked to be the blocking counterpart to Kyle Rudolph but did look solid as dual threat TE when asked to. I think he's an underrated addition to the Giants.

I would not be surprised if he begins the season as the "starter" at TE with the Giants because he can play the more traditional in-line role better than Engram. It will be interesting to see how much 2TE sets the Giants are willing to play with all the talent they have at WR and now that Engram is also in the mix.

Engram's easy to like, however much traditional TE duties he takes on - "just enough" is likely.
35 Team Dyn PPR, 3 x Copy SF start 2TE Super Prem (TE 2 PPR, 8pt TD), 6 pt/non-TE TD, 1pt/20 yds pass (300 +3pt), 1pt/10 yds rush/rec (100 +3pt)

Start 12: 1QB 1SFLX 2RB 4WR 2TE 2FLX | 30 Active Roster, unlim Taxi, 3 IR/Out (+) | est. '21 | playoffs '21, '22

QB - J Allen, T Lawrence ...
RB - A Ekeler, S Barkley, J Cook, I Pacheco ...
WR - AJ Brown, C Ridley, G Pickens, C Sutton ...
TE - D Njoku, D Knox ...
