Steelers release Ladarius Green
It's being reported that the Steelers have cut ties with Ladarius Green after a failed physical. I'm now wondering if his career may be over. I guess fire up the Jesse James hype train.

I'm about ready to cut this guy. I traded a 2nd or 3rd for him in August of 2016, but he has been disappointing. Even if he gets on the field for another team, I just don't think he can stay healthy. His career has to be in doubt.

I grabbed Ladarius at 3.10 in Rookie/FA draft. Dropped him for Jesse James, who will be 23 when the season starts. It's a dart throw. TEs are trash anyway.

Decided to cut him, he is a roster clogger at this point. Even if he plays again, his concussion risk is through the roof and its simply not worth it anymore to me. I'd rather have Rico Gathers lol.

Just got him today as a throw-in as part of a larger deal haha. We'll see I guess. Best case scenario is some team takes a chance on him with a low-risk 1-year deal, maybe LAR or DAL or CIN.

I was thinking about this. he looked decent last year when they threw to him and wondered why he wasn't used more frequently. He's still only 24, so I wouldn't be surprised if he develops into the better TE.

The Christine Michael of tight ends... Or is Michael the Ladarius Green of RBs? How disappointing. Sad thing is that someone like the Cowboys or Patriots will pick him up and the hype machine kicks up again.
Now I really have to consider a TE at 1.09. At least I can add James for free...

From a dynasty asset perspective, that's fair. Lots of roller coaster riding, without much production.
But Green is very talented and HAS produced on his extremely limited opportunities. His skill has never been the issue.
He couldn't get a full time role in SD, because he played behind an all time great TE. In Pittsburgh, he has had constant injuries.

Given - I never paid much; since I bought him last off season for ASJ & Will Tye, but still.
Oh well. Was worth a shot. Would not be surprised if the retirement rumors from last year come to fruition.
Hard to be excited about the TEs on the Steelers roster presently. I could see Grimble beating out James, though.
