Patterson!
JK. I would like to see it, though, as a 3rd down back...but I highly doubt he can block well enough to play that role.

None of them. When Lynch goes down it will be a committee as it was last year.

D Washington looks to have the potential to be the #1 IF Lynch goes down today. Richard seems to be more of the change of pace back they want. Richard might get touches no matter what from what I've seen. I'd consider him the safest in a committee, but TDs aren't going his way. I'd shy away from acquiring anyone.

... Hood I wouldn't hold draft pedigree entirely against him. He lacks speed but runs thru a mothas face like Lynch! That oline does most of the work. I don't see a longterm answer right now. It's something to monitor closely. I can't imagine Lynch at his age & being out of game shape not getting some bumps & bruises.

I've been on the Elijah Hood bandwagon for a couple years now. His tape from two years ago was strong. This past year he looked a little deflated that he had to split carries. For this season alone I'd take Deandre, but I like Hood long term.

As a direct handcuff? Hood. I think Washington/Richard have their roles as change of pace backs and will split touches but aren't likely to be a true RB1 for the Raiders. I'd just avoid the whole thing though.

x2. I'd avoid this backfield if you can. Lynch probably gets hurt midway through the season.

Yep. And just to further that point, here are the games Latavius missed last season:

Week 5: Richard - 8 car, 31 yards. Washington - 9 car, 23 yards.
Week 6: Richard - 4 car, 7 yards. Washington - 10 car, 49 yards.

If Lynch goes down, I wouldn't be surprised if Del Rio just goes with a 3-headed "monster."

I don't think so. Washington has no pop in his pads. He's a space-back only. Richard, on the other hand, I've actually seen push a pile a few times. That having been said, Richard may never be given a real chance to feature simply because Oakland values him too much as a difference making punt-returner to risk potentially over-working him as a lead-back.

I love Richard, have since watching tape last season before the draft. I hold him in two leagues over Washington but don't expect much, possible cut player. Picking up Hood as a just in case guy. It'll depend on the flush coming from the rumor mill in camp on which guy is held. Hood is cheap enough to take a chance on right now.
