Josh Gordon Thread: Reinstatement (Deja Vu)

Postby Purple Pride » Fri Jul 06, 2012 8:15 am

Lets start the discussion on Josh Gordon.

What's the scoop on this guy?

Please share what you know and how much value you feel he should have in a Dynasty League.

What team do you think will take him?

Does he deserve a sleeper roster spot on your team?

Thanks

At least wait and see what round he's drafted and which team he ends up on. Those are good clues to his value compared to any speculation you see on this board now.

I tried to pick him up on Monday, but couldn't find him in MFL. Someone found him early today and picked him up, so I guess he's in there now. If you have deep rosters, I don't see why you shouldn't pick him up in place of someone who has no upside. You can always drop him for someone else later, so there isn't really anything to be lost.

CBS leagues dont have him availible - probably not until the draft which is like next Friday? Does that seem right - thought I saw or heard it was on the July 13th?

Sorry Mr. Rourke. 8-) I asked MFL yesterday and they said he would be put in over night.

My league moves so fast as soon as there is news on a guy they are off the waiver wire, I missed out on L.Jean because the other guys are usually on top of the "HOT" popular pickups. We use MyFantasyLeague and he was listed on our waiver list so I grabbed him now to try and stay ahead of the other owners. Not sure if he will pan out or not, but I'd rather him be on my team now for free and have it be my decision to kick him off then not be able to grab him.

His ultimate value will depend where he lands plus he was kicked off the Baylor FB team 2 years ago so there are some red flags but talent is not one of them. I used Jean's rise to help seal a deal for Britt. The next "hot" thing always has more perceived value then real value.

My league isn't very active or on top of things as some leagues are which is kind of a double edge sword...its great that I can get the guys that are mentioned in many of these forums without any trouble but since they dont research anything in the off season I really cant capitalize on their value..oh well I guess.

So I woke up and decided to do a lil homework. Check out the link. I know its one mans opinion but then look at the youtube link. The kid looks huge. They say he runs around a 4.4. If he is there in your waivers I would recommend picking him up. What you have to lose?

As i know there is a reason they are called highlights but the kid is being compared to Demary Thomas. I read one report saying they would have him ranked higher that hill and jenkins if he came out the traditional way.

Give him a shot and pick him up I say.

maybe I missed it because I skimmed through the post but why was he not in the regular NFL draft? does he have some character issues or was it something worse.

Does anyone know when his own Pro Day is supposed to occur? I looked online but couldn't find a time.
ETA: I know it's Tuesday but I'm looking for the specific time.

"Supplemental draft prospect WR Josh Gordon will hold a personal Pro Day on Tuesday of next week.
Per SI's Tony Pauline, Gordon entered the Supplemental auction based "purely on financial need" after transferring from Baylor to Utah. Gordon has drawn early-round grades from some draftniks, although Rotoworld's Josh Norris gave him a sixth-round projection. Either way, we expect Gordon to be picked." Jul. 6 - 5:12 pm et
