I think people are overestimating the benefit of the "training" aspect here. Better, is him keeping himself occupied with football in the offseason.

Kyle rudolph has gone to the camp too. Any training is good, but i dont think its THAT much more beneficial than any professional training

Not to detract from the general positivity of it....

Yes, and so did a number of break out candidates right before they broke out. Of course there will be players that benefited and those that haven't. For someone like Gordon who's work ethic/maturity are questioned it is a much more positive sign than those individuals we just want to think are going to "break out". That being said, there's a lot to learn about training and work ethic by going to this camp.

I agree that attending the camp is not a guarantee of becoming great, but I believe it is much more signifigant for Gordon to attend than almost any other WR. First, Gordon basically only played a season in college, then missed a year, and now has had two different coaching staffs in two seasons in the NFL. I think it is fair to say that cirmstances have not been ideal for him to develop, yet he has progressed a great deal so there is a very good chance he will pick up a lot of finer techniques that he has never been exposed to before. Second, and probably more importantly, if he attends, it shows he is committed and focused on football. This would be a huge step in the right direction away from the off-the-field issues he had prior to entering the league. With Shanahan as off coord and the Browns very likely(and able) to draft a franchise QB, I believe Gordon will be WR 1b to Calvin Johnson's 1a going into next season. This off-season is pivotal.

Which is exactly why you should take it for what it is. A player showing the desire to get better.

This is generally how I feel about it. It is good news because it is not bad news. A hand on a football is a hand not holding a bong.

Its just another step that shows he actually cares about the game and improving as a player. Good to see..
Tbh what really impressed me was that he was here in NYC this week attending Super Bowl Blvd, wich means he was here for all the parties and nightlife, and he came away from it with no off field issues or problems.

ummmm I have consistently ranked him in the 3-6 range behind AJG and Calvin. In the league I got him I have AJG, Calvin and Dem...Julio and Dez were not available. So yeah, I am fine with you disagreeing with me ranking him behind AJG, but at least know where I have him ranked before being a smarta$$ ;-)

Not really news-worthy other than that this is time in which he can't be drinking purple drank or smoking a joint.

Now that i've officially traded Gordon in both leagues that I owned him for a kings ransom, I can't wait until he has one small miss step and gets slammed with an indefinite suspension. Then maybe people will realize this guy should not have been valued as a top 3 dynasty WR.

I don't believe he's in Stage 3 yet, so it wouldn't be an indefinite suspension.
