He may want to seriously consider retiring with the issues he has. He hasn't made any progress to a solution while being in the league.

How in da fuq can you not stop smoking weed to make millions of dollars?
Addiction is a nasty animal.
It's not simply just smoking weed. He's openly admitted to being an alcoholic, as well as abusing prescription medications and codeine. There are also clearly some mental health issues.
The marijuana/Xanax combination is an epidemic where I live among the HS/college crowd. I've seen the devestation up close. Its sad watching kids ruin their lives.

Unfortunately Gordon is not a football story any longer, he is purely a human story. All anyone can do at this point is have hope for his recovery.

Justin Blackmon didn't even bother to try. Sad situation. And when it seems to happen so often in the NFL, just imagine the number of people in our communities silently living life this way.

Sad waste of talent, but from a fantasy perspective someone that should've been sold high any number of times.

Literally inevitable. Sorry to be harsh, but anyone that invested anything in this guy this year is a fool.

His career will go down as "what if". After that amazing year, if he could have kept playing, the trajectory could have been vastly different. Such a shame. From a Dynasty perspective, I anybody who did not take the multiple chances to cash out, obviously should have. I continually said this on these boards, and I wish I had been wrong, but unfortunately, this seemed inevitable. From a life perspective, it's sad to see somebody continue to struggle with substance abuse and depression.

League made fun of me for not trading Guice during the rookie draft (he was already on IR) for Gordon. Can't believe so many people didn't see this coming.

This is why I advocated strongly for selling Gordon and Martavis.

Adios amigo. Was a good run. Glad I didn't pay a cent. Not even mad I lose him as it makes my keeper decisions easier. No one was trading for him anyway

Actually, I'm not shocked.

Some good dro and a Xanax bar is too good of a combo to pass up. I know I joked about being a fiend for weed, which was just that, an oxymoron so to speak. 100% issues upstairs with this kid, so hope for his life's sake he gets it figured out. Unfortunately, if I had to bet, we will be hearing some Ryan Leafish stories or some sort of rock bottom with him. Nothing to do with football at this point, his life is going to be ins shambles soon. Maybe he wants help or maybe he truly does not care. It is hard to tell when there are so many different cases of "seeking help for mental health", some do follow through, some just say that to save face or appease the masses. Sorry for those who bought, smart for those who sold. If you can even call it smart at this point since there were a handful of opps to do so.

Traded him for 2 seconds the night the "fake news" of him sitting a quarter came out. Got laughed at that night. Feeling pretty good fantasy wise about that right now. As far as Gordon goes part of you does have to feel bad for the total waste of talent. Hopefully he recovers and can writer a book in 10 years.
