By that logic Brandon Marshall is a WR1-2. Maybe...maybe WR2. No way we can call him a WR1 at this point IMO. He has played 10 games since his big year, and averaged 11.18 PPR points per game (with 1 TD in those 10 games). The Josh Gordon that took the league by storm years ago doesn't exist any more.
Just an interesting quote from an article this year:

Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Casey Hayward called Gordon his toughest matchup of the season and that included New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and Denver Broncos wide receiver Demariyus Thomas.
I also watched his games last year and if kizer could throw somewhat accurately Gordon would have averaged much higher per game
Completely agree. If he was playing with just an average starting QB last year his numbers would have been crazy ridiculous. And that was without an off season to work with the team.

The Browns moves this week are a good thing for Gordon I feel.

Landry works underneath, leaving Gordon free to take the top off. If Landry sucks help down to him, as he's good enough to do, Gordon could get 1 on 1 coverage on the outside where he can shine

Tyrod isn't a deep ball QB, no, but he was only brought in as a stop gap so the Browns can't take a QB at #4 I feel and not be forced to use him before he's ready as that's been their surefire destroy a QB and waste a 1st round pick method for the last 10 years

I could see them using Gordon as a lull them into sleep then explode tactic in their game planning especially if they take Barkely #1 like they really should. A line of 3 catches, 90 yards, 1 TD would be pretty common

I think Gordon looked really good last year - especially considering who was throwing to him.

If Cleveland comes away from the draft with Barkley, and their QB1 (their replacement for Tyrod going forward), this could be a very fun offense to watch for a while... Joe Thomas being healthy will be important, but those are some nice pieces to build around...

Gordon's productivity has been as much out of his control (players around him) as it has been in his control (his 'issues')... I think this is the year that people find out exactly what he is long term, regardless of whether it's a good, bad or average outcome... If he blows the top off, you have your answer... If he gets suspended, you have your answer... And if he's average with 'good' pieces around him, well, you have your answer...

From a 'risk' standpoint, he's my WR5 (I have Julio, Hopkins, Gronk and Sammy ahead of him on my team)...

From a 'potential' standpoint, he's probably in my top 3... But, he'll have to prove it early to get in my lineup with much regularity...

It's like the HOF league thread. We all want it to just go away and die but someone decides to bring it back to the front page for no reason...

It would be better if someone brought back the Josh Gordon thread that had like 80 pages of people arguing about his ADP 2 or 3 years ago. That was a fun thread to read

Gordon is gonna ball out this year because he gets to see Jarvis get paid up close and personal. He's gonna want that and next year will go to whoever pays him the most. Buy him low now. He's a man on a mission.
