I have him and I'm holding. If I were to sell though I'd take a late 1st or an early second.

I would have taken that last year but no one wanted him for that. No way I am taking that now. What are the odds a late first or early second exceeds where he is right now? Not good.

I think that's going to be his approximate market price since many buyers will be wary of his past performance even if they are excited about his new situation. I'd probably accept the 1.08-1.10 but wouldn't pay any more than a early to mid 2nd if I were looking to buy.

yes, opportunity to play is largely the only thing that matters.
But in most cases, coach worshipping is a narrative with no statistical support. Player performance is driven by that player's ability, and secondly by his supporting cast. Schedule strength, health, game flow, every other external factor matters more than coaching. Jon Gruden and Chip Kelly freely admit that the vast majority of team's run a version of the West Coast offense There is no magic play calling, because film is available to all teams.

Did you overdraft Jeremy Hill because Hue Jackson is a running back guru?

Did you draft Chales Johnson because Norv Turner got the most out of Josh Gordon?

Did you draft C.J. Anderson because he would be a apart of Gary Kubiak's famous zone stretch plays?
Mckinnon will be 2018's Goff... just watch
2018s goff? please explain... McKinnon doesnt play QB anymore.

I own McKinnon, I’m high on him as the lead back in SF and I agree with every other item on your list, but I don’t understand how the bolded part is considered a positive. As far as I’m concerned, I’d much rather he avoid contact and run out of bounds than risk injury by seeking out contact. I’d rather see him play all 16 games and leave a few yards on the table than pretend like he’s a miniature Ironhead Heyward or Jerome Bettis.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

I didn't attempt to quantify how many of the plodder guys carries were 3rd or 4th and short or goal line totes.

4.0 YPC on 474 attempts equals replaceable asset . Ppr only rb2 at best a non ppr fantasy teams rb 3 or rb 4 my advice if you can find an ostrich in your league drunk on the shanny back punch now is the time to cash out .

in fact take out his best carry each season and on 470 carries he has avg 3.62 YPC YUCK - he may catch a ton passes but that is all he is - a pass catching option that shanny jr may spike his value but the smart play is to ride the value wave into a trade with a better prospect

Murray surprised me last year but he really did get a lot more holes to work with than McKinnon did. I know that’s a totally subjective argument but it’s what I saw. McKinnon just looked worlds better than Murray to me. Also, the Vikings system is a better fit for Murray than it is for McKinnon. This is a fair criticism, though.
clarion contrarion wrote: Sat Mar 17, 2018 4:17 am 0.1 >YPC than mega plodder matt asiata in 2016 (3.4) to (3.3)
Yes...in the same year that Peterson ran for 1.9 ypc. If you didn’t watch, that line wasn’t just bad. It was absolutely a joke. Defenses continuously were destroying the qb within a couple seconds sending 3-4 men fronts against the 5 OL plus almost always a TE blocking. The Vikings lost so many OL to injury they were down to pulling an undrafted rookie tackle off the street to plug in at LT with a week of practice. It was a disaster, and the only thing going was a cloud of dust up the middle. This is NOT a good assessment of his talent.

*edit - McKinnon was also running on a bad ankle that in most years would have been an injury to be sidelined and rehabbed properly. In this year, doing so would have left the Vikings with Asiata alone, so McKinnon ran limited behind an atrocious line. Running on a bad ankle is pretty limiting to an agile and explosive back, moreso than to a power back. It’s sort of like how a hamstring injury is far more damning to a speed wr than it is to a big body wr.
clarion contrarion wrote: Sat Mar 17, 2018 4:17 am 4.0 YPC on 474 attempts equals replaceable asset.
Todd Gurley had 3.9 ypc on 507 carries...slightly larger sample size at worse ypc so was he replacement level? Hell no. Stats don’t tell the whole story. What changed? A coach came along that fit a system to his strengths.
I’m not saying McKinnon is Gurley but I do think he’s pretty damn good. I guess we’ll see what happens.

I agree with valhalla. As a minnesota fan who has watched every game it’s to difficult to guage off of numbers because of how atrocious the O-line was. That and Norv turners “offense” wasn’t helping none. But to me mckinnon is the the real deal and has all the traits to be a good 3 down back.

Thank you, Valhalla.

Pivoting off yours and purplepride's point, Norv Turner was a disaster. His offense was built off deep drops that exposed the poor offensive line. Definitely a problem he didn't adjust his scheme to the situation. He mysteriously quit as the OC before the season ended.

Where was all this hype for him when when he was a Rookie? He was likely drafted 3rd round or later and ended up on many leagues free agency at some point. He hasn't done anything in the last 4 years to warrant the MASSIVE value jump (people are wanting mid 1st or better compensation). In a vacuum I have 7 rookie Rbs ranked ahead of him and in the same tier as 3 others.

This guys New perceived value makes me laugh

He's just a guy. He couldn't beat out Asiata or Latavius Murray for a 3 down job

Somehow McKinnon is already worth more than Carlos Hyde was worth in the same offense.

God help the dynasty community if Jimmy G regresses and McKinnon isn't prolific.
