Montgomery's role is safe at this point. Only adding Cook/McCaffrey would've derailed him. At this point it's unlikely any rookie would take significant work from him. I've said in the past he could be Theo/Dion for the Packers. They typically don't run their offense this way but it's pretty clear they're headed towards being a severely passing heavy offense, as they should considering they have the best QB.

Monty is safe barring a Charles signing. Agree he's the back to own in this committee unless they make a trade for an impact RB like an Ingram.

This draft had TONS of good RB depth. Not shocked at the picks coming late. I think the Packers are going to employ a RBBC.

I disagree. With no Day 2 picks at RB, Michael can make this team.

I see this GB backfield now as a free-for-all. Montgomery isn't safe, either.

If I had to place a bet on any of the five, though, factoring in cost, it would probably be Aaron Jones. Not that I'm throwing shade on Montgomery; he just costs more than it'll take to draft Jones in this year's rookie draft. I think, at least.

Two day 3 RBs stinks for Monty, but I think he definitely has the best shot to control most of the touches from the backfield.
