Reuben Foster sliding perfectly into 2nd

Postby bruiser » Thu Apr 20, 2017 5:07 pm

It's a curious case of a super talent raising red flags before the draft. I've not heard anything negative about Foster's character until the pre-draft process. Is it possible that he sees Bobby Wagner money at the 2nd round level as more lucrative than Donta Hightower money at the 1st round level (5th year option is cheap for LBs)? See how the 5th year option cripples late 1sts to negotiate their market value before replying "blasphemy!"

Jaylon, Jack, and Ragland all loving their 2nd round status, as well. All projected as 1sts before being 'vetted'.
Just a guy who loves fantasy football - specifically defense.

I could not care less if his diluted sample was due to him trying to cover for something like pot, but of course the real worry is that he was covering for a more serious drug.

The hospital worker thing may be much ado about nothing. For all we really know, the worker might have legitimately been a jackass to Foster. And it's not as if punches were thrown, they just shouted at each other.

For now, I'm inclined to agree some team's gonna get a bargain if he falls to Day 2.

Really? If your team drafts him, will you not care even as he gets 4 game, 8 game suspensions? I couldn't care less from a moral standpoint, sure. But as a football fan? Weed is scary. It is more attractive to some NFL players than millions of dollars.

Exactly. Now that he is in the substance abuse program, he can be tested up to 10 times per month. It can be a slippery slope for some players once in the program if they are not mature enough to understand the full ramifications.

I would be thrilled if the Dolphins got another top 10 player late because of a poorly timed ganj revelation.

I have Lions penciled in for Reddick if he is there. Maybe not quite the immediate impact of Foster, but a similar ceiling, cleaner, and more versatile, which should help them as they need help almost everywhere on defense.

I would also be plenty happy with the Dolphins getting Reddick at 22, but figured he probably won't get past the Lions.

What is it about Reddick that you like as an off ball LB?
He has the speed and quickness to cover athletic TEs without giving up a lot in run support. He was praised all-around as a quick study playing LB for the first time at the SR Bowl, particular in how his instincts developed during the week in reading coverage and reacting to play development, and he already is very skilled as a pass-rusher. I think he will be a little raw early on, but love his versatility and athleticism.

I'm sitting here praying my fins get Obi Melifonwu or Peppers possibly Reddick & now I can look forward to this narrative draft day!!!

I wasn't happy when Fins said Mixon was off there board for character issues... I mean they drafted Tunsil after the bong mask dropped his stock.

Suspended or not, certain teams can't afford to let the value of Foster dropping not entice them.

It will be a lot of blabbering about nothing as he still goes in the first , he is a better player than reddick or davis and someone will justify the risk . Even my steelers at 30 with a need at inside lb and a track record of players that love the sweet leaf would be hard pressed to pass . For me though the floor is baltimore at 16 as ozzie will have more info on him than anyone else so if they pass it could indeed portend a drop . But it won't happen he may as well go ahead &book his flight to baltimore ,Zach Orr the ravens tackle leader in 2016 retired after an injury . The need is there foster is a fit w/ bama roots , so if you want him better trade up to 15 and get him.

LB is a huge need for the Raiders - if he was there when they are on the clock I would be thrilled with them picking him.
