Ishmael Zamora's Pro Day numbers

Postby DragonPhly » Wed Apr 05, 2017 10:40 am

Ishmael Zamora at today's Pro Day:
HT: 6'3.5"
WT: 224 lbs.
40: 4.49
Vert: 40"
Broad: 11'1"

Are we considering him in the 2nd ahead of guys like Henderson and Dupre now?

No. Has character concerns and only knows about 2 routes. He doesn't block. And his lack of effort on plays he isn't involved in is just embarrassing (heard that is part of the Baylor system though).

Matt Kelley is in love with this guy. I'm sure we'll hear more about him on next weeks podcast after these pro day numbers.

I'm not sure about ahead of Henderson or Dupre, But I could see him sliding in a little after Cannon, maybe before Ford.

Kelley heard of Zamora for the first time like two weeks ago. It was actually quite annoying hear him immediately anoint him because a podcast guest said he was a stud.

Kelley's history of faceplant predictions is amazingly bad, so afaic this is a strike against Zamora. Kelley's like the homeless man's Skip Bayless of fantasy football pundits.

I wouldn't consider Zamora more than a 3rd Round Pick, probably the same that I think of Dupre at this point.

Haha I like this analogy of Kelley, I will use this next time someone talks to me about his podcast. He does have a lot of hot takes that seem a little off.

Careful, I made the same comparison maybe a year ago and was ostracized for it.

My favorite part of Kelley is that he actually has an opinion. Unlike so many other podcasters who out there who stay neutral when it comes to a player or a take..a la Harmon, who is afraid to make a decision/prediction. In his defense, a lot of fantasy players are like this. They can't see forward, only behind them.

Anyways, back to Zamora. The issue with Zamora is he's probably going day *late* day 3, or undrafted. Which means right out of the gate his odds are so low unless I can draft him around 40+, I probably won't have any shares. If he snuck into round 4 or something though, the measurables would have me intrigued enough to start taking fliers on him.

this exactly how I feel , I may be wrong but I ain't bashful .
for me , few of my teams have any serious needs so I can take a shot at a high upside guy like that, for me around 30 as opposed to 40 as jason mentioned . But I also doubt he gets drafted before the 150 range and that should leave IZ available around 30th for my leagues.

On the contrary, I'd like to know who here holds Matt Kelley (or Skip Bayless) in great esteem. Then I'll be forewarned.

Kelley's a clown routinely guilty of double-standards with his rhetoric. His opinions are more often guided by ego, whim, and first-impression than anything actually rational and researched.

I actually find Kelly's shows super entertaining and I enjoy his takes on players and other analysts. I don't listen to any podcast to get definitive answers on any player l, I listen to them for entertainment and to glean small things fome each to make me think.

Who's shows are you listening to that are always right with their takes?
