so you better run from your shares of this guy.This year, I'm somewhat surprised how low Adam Thielen is. I don't pay to know what he's ranked here, but I see him ranked at wr #59 (fantasypros), #54 (dynastyfootballwarehouse), and #56 (pro footballfocus). Well below lots of guys that won't regularly see the field.
I get it. He's not long removed from the practice squad. He isn't/wasn't supposed to be good. He has no media darling hype around him. All that, and he's a favorite of the underwhelming, disgusting Bradford (not to me, but to most).
Yet, at the same time, I don't get it. He is rated behind numerous guys that won't likely get nearly as much opportunity...so it must be the fact that he isn't capitalizing on his opportunity, right? Not exactly.
He finished with 69 receptions for 965 yards and 5 TDs. Nothing amazing. Yet, there are two things to remember here. First, Bradford was BRAND NEW to this whole offense. He arrived AFTER preseason. Bradford had to figure out who he liked and who he could click with. Second, thielen wasn't given as much opportunity early in the year. He became more involved in the back half of the year, when he became a clear favorite of bradford's.
He wasn't getting the starts early on. Charles Johnson was. In the last 8 games of the season, thielen had 40 receptions for 535 yards and 4 TDs. Double that and you've got 80 for 1070 and 8. Give him an offseason with Bradford and give Bradford an improved line and it might even be better.
Is he a stud in the making? Not likely. Should he be the #50+ wr off the board? Looking at the guys ahead of him, I'd say he's a nice value.
