One Torreo Wr said he spun a good ball, but I believe it was a misquote and that he meant he threw a decent ball while Spun. I would welcome back Manziel, this is entertainment. Though, not sure it will ever happen.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but this guy who just had 13 teams come out for his workout is:

1. A media sideshow, and therefore DURR DISTRACTION DURR
2. A scrambling QB who doesn't fit most teams' precious systems
3. A player with absolutely no track record of success at the NFL level

Is there any intellectually honest argument that Kaepernick's lack of employment is about anything other than protesting police brutality? Christ, at least Kaepernick was actually good from 2012-2013. If Manziel actually signs somewhere first, does that immediately become Exhibit A in Kaepernick's collusion case?

I think Kaep is good enough to be signed, and might be better than a few of the starters. I 100% think the reason he isn't being signed is because of his protests. With that being said, I have no idea how he proves his collusion case, and think it is rather silly.
While it was his right to protest, it is also the NFL owners right not to hire him. They can't be forced to hire anyone they don't want. To me, the sad part is that most of the NFL viewers actually agree with the NFL owner's stance of trying to get players not to protest. If the NFL viewers don't care, than the owners never will.

It would be awesome if Manziel came back!

I do agree- I'm not an attorney but I have no idea how he proves collusion beyond a reasonable doubt. Also, in spite of thinking that this is absolute nonsense, I too would gladly welcome the bleep-show that is Johnny F'ing Football back into our lives.

Kaepernick not being in the NFL is unfair, but it's not collusion. Signing Kaep will turn a lot of fans away from whatever team he signs with, which means he isn't worth the investment considering he wouldn't actually contribute in a truly meaningful way to winning games.

I have been on board with many of your takes recently and that is odd at the weirdest level but there are so many more players that deserve your attention for not getting a shot than CK. Pigs socks and his dopey girlfriend saying nfl owners were like plantations owners is enough to warrant not wasting a teams time even if he had never taken a knee . There are tons of gifted people in the world that never get a shot musicians comedians athletes and many others from all walks of life .
That DF had his shot opted out of a huge $ deal and whined that he is black balled GTFOH with that crybaby red herring ! He made his stand and in our great country you have that right - what you don't have a right to is freedom from the repercussions of those actions !
Intellectually honest or not many a person has been blackballed for less offensive actions pal , so on your next search for a bleeding heart cause sift a bit better through the rubble at least if you want me and those of like minds on board.

as for manziel hell he is younger than keenum was at the start of 2017 and look how that turned out and johnny jam boogie has better tools and a better resume football wise likely. It is only about applying himself and doing football and not the sideshow stuff if he does football he has a chance to salvage his career . Even a small chance is worth taking.

Clarion- I'm not disagreeing with you. What I'm saying is that for over a year now we've had people insisting that the reason Kaepernick has gone unsigned had nothing to do with his protests, and that's just so transparently horseshit. I felt like Manziel is a great case to show why.

I get it, of course. Kaepernick's skill-level puts him at either a very low-end starter or a backup. Teams that he would have started for weren't going to win anything meaningful and would have been better off tanking (with maybe Denver representing a notable exception). So like Dynastyninja mentioned, there's limited juice relative to the squeeze of angry white people protesting and threatening to cancel their season tickets.

Now, if you want to talk about a more inexplicable injustice, Kerry Rhodes was the #4 safety per PFF in 2012 and then couldn't find work once he was outed as a guy who enjoys banging dudes on the DL. That was absolutely bonkers.

I don't know if Manziel will get another bite of the apple or not.

But he has been saying and doing all the right things for several months now. It is entirely possible he realizes the golden opportunity he so carelessly pissed away, and is remorseful and working hard to prove he's a changed person. If that's the case, maybe he does get signed at some point?

The NFL, and most people, do enjoy a good redemption story.

Scouts weren't there for Manziel, they were there for San Diego's pro day. He used that to get seen by the scouts, but he was no more than a camp arm.

He's worth a roster spot in SF and 2 QB leagues.
