Actually I agree that the media plays a key role in how perception is made.

For example today Johnny Manziel made a surprising, probably a little too honest, admission on a radio show about his lack of knowledge of NFL X&Os and that the Browns should have known that he had had limited experience with X&Os due to the Texas A&M playbook (or lack there of).

https://www.aol.com/article/news/2018/0 ... /23402881/

But a quick google search for Johnny Manziel will show a lot of "Manziel Blames Browns" & "Manziel says Browns shown have done their homework" headlines and less of the "Manziel admits he had a poor work ethic" or "Manziel admits he didnt study much in the way of X&Os" headlines.

I don't think he was demonized, but the media created a circus around him which is just as bad.

I guess I shall rephrase because it wasn't exactly the media that demonized him (though some elements did). The media "circus" surrounding Tebow and the fact that he was TOO GOOD ( as opposed to Manziel who was far, far from it )...ultimately had the effect of demonizing Tebow in the minds of many. For no reason. It's rather striking to me that people want so badly for guys like Manziel (Gordon, Martavis, Kaepernick...) to make their way back into the league but want nothing more than to run good people out of it. I'd much, much rather see Tebow get a shot again than Manziel.

I am still a little disappointed the Eagles let him go back in 2015, but c'est la vie.

Putting Kap in a category with Gordon and Bryant is a reach. In fact JF deserves to be in that group a good bit more than Kap. Fact is Tebow nor JF is worthy of a starting QB position in the NFL. I personally will be glad when JF's 15 minutes is up and he crawls back into the hole he dug for himself.

Think Tebow could have been a successful QB in the right system, with the right supporting pieces. He did alright in Denver. His medium range throws were okay. And he rarely threw an INT. Plus he had the Holy Spirit on his side.

:D
