^ lovie came from Chicago and brought mccown with him after a career year. Glendon never got a fair shot to develop.

Reasons to like Glennon
1. Apparently the Bucs offered to make him the highest paid backup in the league. They know him better than 31 other teams.
2. stats from the 18 or so games he played were pretty good (2:1 TD:INT)
3. He put those stats together mostly playing with one of the most dysfunctional teams I've seen led by Greg Schiano
4. Bears O-line is actually good, Howard will take some pressure off him and if Alshon returns, they have a decent group of receivers
5. You say Osweiler, I say Tyrod. Let's at least give him a chance.

In a 12 team, two QB league, I'd buy at 2.01 and sell at 1.09. Anything in between would be a tough call.

Solid post. In a 2qb league I'd easily pay more than 2.1 for him, though

Barkley looked kinda decent in December. I can't imagine Glennon will look any better than kinda decent, so I'd call it a lateral move.

As a Bears fan, I am fairly happy with the signing of Glennon, just wish it would have been a bit cheaper. No matter who they bring in, they are in a rebuild so as long as Cutler is gone, and I actually hope Jeffery is gone as well, I am content to see what happens in a couple of years.

The guaranteed money is just 19 million...making this effectively a one year deal if need be. I hope the Bears still draft a good prospect in the first 3 rounds

I don't understand this move. They could have given Brian Hoyer a two year deal for a lot less, and Hoyer at least knows the offense and played well in it by his standards.

What's the point in overpaying Glennon when you have no weapons for him? Matt Barkley can hand the ball off to Jordan Howard 25 times if that's the strategy.

I think it is simply that you know what Hoyer is and he would be strictly a stopgap. At least with Glennon you get the upside of untapped potential. While it is a long shot, there is the possibility that Glennon can be a fine starter in the league. He was thrown in pretty young, then got the opportunity to sit, learn, and potentially adjust his game and mind. I'm not opposed to what they did here at all. If they want to draft someone and see what they have in Glennon, then make a call in 2018, why not? If Glennon pans out, you can continue to evaluate and make a decision on what the better path is, move an asset if desired, but at least you have a QB. If you don't have a QB then you are in tough. Toss some darts in the fire and see what happens. The process of drafting and tossing to the fire with fingers crossed fails more times than it succeeds. Get a hedge and start your contingency early. Nothing lost by trying.

exactly , ^^^^ keeping hoyer as a starter is the same as saying we are ok going 5-11 or 6-10 in 2017. Too good to get sam darnold and too crumby for john fox to keep his job. Fox probably said get me a qb or just fire me today and write me a check . A franchise has to look into its player's eyes and those players have to believe the franchise is trying to win and signing hoyer as your QB1 is the same as saying WDGAF! , if hoyer is your 2 great that is what he should be .

I personally thought the Bears would roll the dice with one of their current QBs this year and tank for 1 of the better QB prospects in the 2018 draft. Signing Glennon puts them in that pick10 - pick15 range for 2018 which wont be good enough to land a top tier QB in the draft.

would you guys buy Glennon in a SF? I'm thinking of offering 2018 2nd(2.07-2.12)+ 2017 3.01.

i feel like he could be worth a 1st+ once we see him play.
