*PVP POLL* TJ Yeldon 2/2/17

Postby lukkynumber13 » Thu Feb 02, 2017 7:48 pm

Where is Yeldon's market value these days? He won't turn 24 until the next season...

Just traded FOR him, as I love his potential. He was pretty darn good his rookie year, was banged up this year...

He's only 23! Good draft pedigree, great build. If Jax doesn't draft a RB within the first few rounds, I like his chances to get good workloads over Ivory

I just traded for him as well for team in sig. Gave up pick 23 + Paxton Lynch. I am a big fan. I thought he looked pretty solid throughout the season. Their offense was a mess obviously, their O-Line was horrific too. I liked him as a prospect, I like his pro tape, and their situation can't get worse, so IMO he's a buy. Assuming his owner hates him.

I just traded a late 2nd for him. I figure his chance of bouncing back are as good if not better than a late 2nd rookie.

My one concern with Yeldon is them taking a RB at the top of the 2nd/3rd. If you watched the Jags RB isn't their problem so I hope they hit the O-Line/TE's/Def with those earlier picks.

He's a 220 pound back and just caught 50 balls at 23 years old. Pretty solid stuff.

Seems undervalued, but some guys just get passed over. He's now got 312 NFL carries @ 3.9 ypc =/ So, he could get labeled as a 3rd down back going forward with maybe a Powell-like career (which is not a terrible fantasy fate).

He'll probably spend another 2 years in a RBBC (IF the Jags don't draft someone to take over) while on his rookie contract and then there's no guarantee he'll get a nice gig in free agency. So while I feel like he's a buy low, he's also a high risk to do nothing more than burn one of your roster spots for 2 years and then get cut if he signs a backup contract in free agency.

This is a little roster/league dependent, for me. If the league starts 1 RB or less (ignoring flexes for a moment), I'd struggle to give more than a later 2nd. If you must start 2 RBs or more, I'd easily give 2.1 and could easily see myself will to offer more based on NFL landing spots.
League #1- 14 tm ppr, 1Q, 2R, 3W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1K
1 DT, 2 DE, 2 LB, 1 CB, 1 S, 1 flex

League #2- 12 team PPR, 1Q, 1R, 2W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1 W/R/T, 1 Def

League #3- 12 tm PPR, 1Q, 0R (yes, ZERO RB) 3W, 1T, 2 R/W/T flex, 1 Def

Count me in as one of those on the Yeldon train... I like his talent, just hate his situation... Crappy OL and RBBC... That'll change eventually... I don't think he'll ever be a high end RB1, but I think he has the chance to be a capable contributor, low end RB1/high end RB2... valuable depth... for me he's a hold, since you'll never get value for him right now...

JAG

No pun intended. I've owned him, been quite frustrated with the situation. Seems to lack explosiveness. I know his O-line struggles but... man, seems like something is missing. I'd offer a mid 2nd for him if I need rb depth but I'd have realistic expectations. His age is working for him, but, his situation is not. He could be just another guy.... He is replaceable but, we just don't know what the Jags will do. I wouldn't advocate over investing in him due to uncertainty.

I bought him during last season; gave Big Ben (my backup at the time) straight up in a 12 team, 1 QB league, so I thought the value was good. I think he's a good buy-low candidate. His value can't get much lower, he's very young, and I agree with others that the o-line & situation are big factors in his low production.

The middle to end of the second round rookie is at least as big a gamble as he is.

Not even a little excited by Hackett as the OC given his usage of Spiller in Buffalo. He could be functional based solely on volume, but I see Ivory as the better fit for Hackett's run it up the gut approach.

In Marrone's first season in Buffalo they lead the league in rushing attempts with 546. Both Fred Jax and Spiller topped 200 carries. I think both Yeldon and Ivory are buys. I don't see them drafting a RB at 4 overall. 2nd round perhaps, but if not, then both Yeldon and Ivory IMO will be solid RB's in 2017.

You have to have a lead, or at least be close, in most of your games in order to run 546 times in a season. I do think it would be better for the Jags to run the ball more because of Bortles flaws but if the defense can't stop anything I find it hard to believe the jags run the ball 34+ times a game when they averaged around 24 rush attempts per game last year.

he gets hurt every year , like the talent but he is just frustrating as hell to own , if he is my rb 4 or 5 great as you can get a few good games a year but if he is higher than that you had best keep searching.
