I anticipate many long, angry conversations about why the GM wont give me enough budget for that one player that will push us over the edge... Not to mention any chance to go H2H against the IDP crew on here is always fun. I certainly want to get one over FiremanEd.

If anyone's interested in my services then drop me a PM.
Looking forward to it Tom. I had already sent a PM to JoshGordonsDealer, but since this seems to be a public application I will state my interest here as well. I would do a Defensive Coordinator position to help fill that side of the house.

Reaaaally Interested in a GM role if possible.

If not also willing to go DC.

Thanks!

Sorry if I had missed this, but what are we looking at for price?

I have a bit more discretionary income, and this sounds like a good place to use some of it. I'd be willing to own a team, price dependent, but I like the interactive side of it, with multiple people working together, so I'd want to hire an OC and a DC.

RB: Mostert, Henderson, Hill, Travyeon Williams, Rodney Anderson

...but again, I truly think that the buy-in should be higher, so that stakes match the time that everyone involved will invest in such a cool format.

That would lead to more pressure from Owners, and thus higher standard/accountability on Coordinators.

Just my 2 cents.

Assuming this will be in MFL? Can whichever site that is used, accommodate this number of coaches/Owners to run the teams? (never seen this done before)

just being curious how it will work...

Answering some questions:

1. I've upped the buy-in to $75. I doubt it will go higher in the first season.

2. I don't know if the site will accommodate every person with a separate login - the teams will have to share the team login. I have no idea if two people can be logged in to the same team at the same time.

3. I'm going to get the owners together first and allow them to find coaches. Personally, I'll be using people I don't know. It adds to the fun for me.

Edit:

4. If it goes well, I'd like to up the annual fee.

5. We need a commish as well. I don't want an owner to shoulder that role.

I'm not ignoring interest posts, I'm just not going to respond until I have things finalized. It's been a busy few weeks (my wife has pneumonia right now, I've been traveling quite a bit, and I'm starting a new job) but it really looks like this will be a reality soon. I hope to have owners decided by next Friday.

I think you're on to something good here. I like the idea of coaches a lot I'd be interested in a role like that

Just updating. I'll be interested in a GM role or a coordinator role. Likely GM just need to see how everything shakes out.

Something we haven't discussed and isn't in the rules document is how in-season free agency signings will work i.e. waiver wire pick ups. Will a standard 1 year and "league minimum" salary be assigned for that person? Also have we landed on drafting offense and defense separately for the start up? I am fine with the rookie drafts being both offense and defense that makes sense, but an auction draft with both offensive and defensive players sounds bonkers for two reasons: 1. Any start up with offensive and defensive players in it screws up the defensive player values, 2. I am sure most of us who are looking to GM a team are going to be taking draft and salary input from our coordinators. Having three people involved in a draft for one team at the same time will be tough not to mention the arguing back and forth on it lol

Think fee should be $100 at minimum. Anything less and people just don't invest themselves as much (long-term, especially).

JGD, let me know if I can help any with the league site. I can streamline the homepage very nicely with a few codes changes.

I'd be interested in being an owner needing a defensive minded coordinator and someone with experience with salary cap leagues.
12 team league; 15 man roster; .5 pt PPR;
QB/RB/2 WR/TE/2 FLX/K/DEF

Tom Brady, Cam Newton
Mark Ingram, Kerryon Johnson, Rashaad Penny, Ronald Jones
AJ Green, Keenan Allen, Michael Thomas, Marvin Jones, Golden Tate, Keelan Cole
Rob Gronkowski
Will Lutz
Minnesota Defense

12 team league; 30-man roster; full PPR
QB/2 RB/2 WR/TE/3 FLX

Rodgers, Goff, Carr
Bell, J. Stewart, Foreman, Perine
Hopkins, K. Allen, Cooks, Hurns, Kupp, Lee, C. Samuel, Patterson, Taywan Taylor
Howard, Hooper, S. Anderson

I wanted to throw out an idea for you. Since there will be 2 or even 3 people working together on each team with multiple duties, setting up a MFL premium league sounds perfect. Premium leagues allow you to have 2 conferences. Each Owner could have an AFC team and an NFC team which would mean more drafts, more action, more trades, and more responsibilities. You'd have double the chances to win. If your AFC team was 2-7 you wouldn't lose interest if your NFC team was 7-2. Or maybe you could possibly take 1st and 2nd in the league. You could even make one the conferences a redraft each year while keeping the other a dynasty. It opens up all kinds of possibilities...

Sounds like your suggestion is having two leagues...I'm not sure I get it. One is enough for me.

Interesting concept...I like the idea and would like to be in if it gets off the ground.

I would also vote to increase the dues a bit. $100-125 would be my choice. Everyone will have quite a bit of time invested in these large rosters. By the time the prize money is split between owners and coaches, you'll want enough left to make it worth while.

Also agree with CoD's point on a higher fee means that teams are more invested long term. Another thing to consider, having the coaches chip in a small portion of the dues would keep them personally invested as well. I quit playing free yahoo leagues years ago because a good chunk of the owners would disappear by mid season. Having some skin in the game helps. That would also help lessen the blow of a higher league fee.
