Who the hell is Robby Anderson & why should we care?

Postby jojo5151 » Thu Dec 15, 2016 1:36 pm

For Team 2 in sig -

This guys getting a lot of Pub but he's a Jet so there's that.

Is he worth a pickup & possibly a start as my WR3 in my playoff matchup? Currently going with Thielen.

Thoughts?

Anderson has speed and is a good high point catcher of the ball. Frame is too slim and he has too many drops at this point to be a high level prospect but definitely is worth a stash. Definitely better to keep on your roster than 3 defenses. Right now I wouldn't be surprised if the 2017 starting WR for the Jets are Anderson and Enuwa.

This. He could disappear next year, or he could become the no. 1 WR for the NYJ. I wouldn't pay more than a 3rd for him, but he's probably worth a stash if you can get him for free off the WW.

Reminds me of when Tyrell Williams was a rookie.

Super fast, athletic WR. Needs to bulk up. Has some hands issues but lots of WR's do.

As for right now, yeah fire him up. Petty locks on to him, cause he sucks and can't look anywhere else. Not to mention Petty throws to him downfield, 15+ yards. He has big play ability. Also matched up with the horrific Tony Lippett this weekend.

A buddy of mine in the other semi-final game texted all of us saying he's starting Anderson over guys like Arob, Forte, Marshall.

I was shocked, but looks like a good decision.

I did something similar. Started Anderson/Powell everywhere I owned them. Looks like it might be the first decision I've made in a month that's actually going to pan out.

If you started Anderson tonight, you can relax and know that you're free-rolling the rest of the night after the 40yd TD on the opening drive.

Robby Anderson - Official Thread

Postby BigJoeWall72 » Wed Jul 12, 2017 2:00 pm

I searched for a dedicated thread, but couldn't find one... so here it is!

What do we think about this guy? He had some very solid games last year when given the shot to play. Now it looks like he is penciled in as the #2 WR for the Jets. While that isn't the most ideal situation in the league, McCown isn't the worst and they should be throwing at a decent clip this year. Then there's the offseason arrest to factor in.

I can't decide if I want to hang on to him or try to trade him for a few mid-later round picks. What is everyone else doing?

Depends on what you are looking for. If you are fine with WR3-WR4 guys who will never be anything more than that then hang on to him. If you want to go for starters with more upside then I'd say trade him for something more fungible (a rookie pick). He does have speed, but I just don't see a 6'3" 190 lb WR with speed being more in that offense than a field stretcher with a WR3 ceiling.

Not sure you'd get much in return if you tried to trade him, so if you have the room, might as well hold and see what he does. I personally don't have very high hopes for him, so if you could get a 3rd, I'd probably trade him.

ID hold. I'm holding him right now and if he truly has solidified the # 2 position you should be able to get at least a 2nd this time next year

Personally I think you should be able to get a mid to late 2nd for him. I've tried to move him for even less than that and no one wants him.

He might be best as part of a secondary piece of a trade right now, you might be better off holding to see if he grows further, he might be worth more during or after the season, especially if the Jets stabilize the QB position this year or get Darnold in the draft next year.
