Adam Humphries: The Humpty Hump or Humpty Dumpty?

Seems like an ordinary talent to me. Not saying he can't be one of those real-football successful journeyman pros that stick around in the league for a decade, just saying I don't see any of the special sort of qualities that can create a legit fantasy star.

Winston has thrown 52 and 58 times the last two weeks, and so Humphries recording some stats isn't surprising.

Curb your enthusiasm, friends. Even compared only to other small not-so-athletic white guys, this is bleh. For example, even Beasley has an elite burst score and two thousand yard seasons in college.

Again, folks, when the QB throws 50+ times in a game, there's gonna be stat inflation with some of the pass-catchers. And I doubt Winston will throw 800 times this year.

I think hes more like Cole Beasley. Maybe he could be like Edelman if he was more reliable / had a better QB throwing him the ball.

I'm a fan of Cole Beasley for sure! I remember in 2016 telling my leaguemates in a league (and in like early October) that Beasley would outperform Bryant - they all laughed - and sure enough Beasley finished ahead of him in yardage & receptions (it didnt hurt that Bryant missed 3 games )

I think the OP is referring to more than his race.

It's the fact that he's only become fantasy football relevant in his 4th season after being an UDFA. It's hard to trust that he'll continue to be a consistent performer. There have been many guys just like him that are never heard from again after one decent season.

In my opinion, he's found his most efficient niche role. If he were to be relied on as the #1 or #2 WR in Tampa, he'd fade. Adam Thielen is the exception to the rule and many doubted him for the same reasons.

In the OP's situation, I'd keep Dak (even though it's a 12 team, 1 qb league). You can find replacements for Humphries very easily.

He is Cole Beasley.

He is undersized, fairly shifty, not possessing any extreme traits but solid at playing the slot. Decent hands.

Thielen is closer to being Julio Jones, albeit not the freak athlete that Julio is.
