Re: Tyler Lockett - Get him before it's too late
People reacting to JTLoh being an idiot again is more entertaining than a discussion of how Lockett can somehow have value. That entertainment may be a 2 on a 1-10 scale, though.

Re: Tyler Lockett - Get him before it's too late
In my head I was wondering why would I bother reading a thread about this guy..
I am glad I took a look - I got to see a hissy fit from someone who very well could be an adult male. Excellent stuff.

Re: Tyler Lockett - Get him before it's too late
Here, I'll make a constructive post.
Somehow? He's likely starting in 2-wide this year, you know. It'll be an upset if Lockett isn't a fantasy WR3 in '18. Lots of targets from last year are available with Richardson and Graham gone. hth

Yeah there are a ton of available targets coming from one of the best QBs in the league. Lockett may not have “dynasty value” ATM but his opportunity in 2018 is undeniable.

Re: Tyler Lockett - Get him before it's too late
Man, Tyler Lockett is sitting there on the FA list. I had pick 1.9 but traded it for M.Crabtree. I really didn't want Crabby but when you get offered a #1 WR for the 9th FA pick, you insta accept. Any chance Lockett fly's under the radar for 18 picks? (till my 2.9)
I should try and trade up.

probably into the early picks of round 2. If your draft is soon you might get lucky at 2.9 but as we get closer to the season his value will rise. Positive reports will come out and people will start to remember the potential he has especially if he is 100%

Exactly what I'm afraid of, as FA draft is like 2 weeks before season starts.azthecrow wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 1:20 pmYeah,JTLoh wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 11:32 am Man, Tyler Lockett is sitting there on the FA list. Yes, two gone, but Marshall (don't care) Vannett, Jaron Brown and Penny there to gobble up those touches. I'll take the field over Lockett.

A guy can't take targets away from Lockett if he's not even on the field in 2/3-wide.Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 5:56 pmYes, two gone, but Marshall (don't care) Vannett, Jaron Brown and Penny there to gobble up those touches. I'll take the field over Lockett.
Two of your four there will be battling for snaps, nevermind targets, and Marshall might not even make the 53 considering he's on a camp-body contract and only might be healthy in time for training-camp at 34 years old coming off two lower leg surgeries. The fourth is a running-back.
After Baldwin and Lockett, there's a void of apparent mediocrity on Seattle's WR and TE chart. Considering you roster Wilson, you had better hope Lockett catches 80 balls this year.

Re: Tyler Lockett - Get him before it's too late
I agree those players aren't inspiring- but kinda my point, cause I don't think Lockett is. I agree Marshall is a body and not much competition, but I think Brown is a more serious threat than generally considered. I think Lockett's claim to value is he brings a downfield component to the offense as a complement to Baldwin. I think Brown can as well. Even if they are battling for snaps, they'll be battling Lockett for those snaps. It's largely a zero sum game, here.ninotoreS wrote: ↑Sat Jun 23, 2018 2:42 amA guy can't take targets away from Lockett if he's not even on the field in 2/3-wide.Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 5:56 pmYes, two gone, but Marshall (don't care) Vannett, Jaron Brown and Penny there to gobble up those touches. The RB is relevant because the touches have to go somewhere. Either the team will hand it to Penny (he may average below 4.0 per carry) or his inability to pass block combined with claims he's a 3 down back may funnel a bunch of dump offs to him. Can't dismiss his as a touch hog.
And yes, I am concerned about Wilson. I could see myself stressing about his sub par production then benching him consistently for Eli.

Re: Tyler Lockett - Get him before it's too late
I see a career path that's eerily reminiscent of the OP for Tyler.
Marginal talent that is in & out of the lineup due to self inflicted injuries. If you don't have anything else going for you then by all means go for the occasional splash play. Fill your roster spot and Lockett up.
But if you have to drop a marginal talent then wait , eventually like JTLoh the Seattle slew of WR's outside of Baldwin will be out out to pasture.(i.e. on the waiver wire) to be brought back at a later date.
As for the gay controversy being brought back up as a "hot take" it was about as hot as resurrecting "Full House" with "Fuller House". I'm not sure what skeletons JTLoh has in his closet but take a tip from the "Fuller House" crew , like Mary-Kate & Ashley sometimes it's best to leave those skeletons behind. Now take that message and apply it to Tyler too.

Re: Tyler Lockett - Get him before it's too late
Fair enough. But I'll point out to you that Lockett has been Seattle's second best graded WR every season he's been a Seahawk, including last year when Richardson nominally outproduced him. And that's even with two of Lockett's three seasons being limited by injury (all but one week of '16 with a PCL injury he played with) and insufficient conditioning (most of '17 -- until around Week 11 to my eyes -- since he was rehabbing then limited for all of the offseason and all but one week of preseason).Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Sat Jun 23, 2018 5:53 am I agree those players aren't inspiring- but kinda my point, cause I don't think Lockett is
In college, Lockett was K-State's chain-mover for two seasons. He's a three-level receiver. There are no limitations with his proficient route tree, except maybe at the goal-line (wouldn't want him running corner fades with those short arms).

Re: Tyler Lockett - Get him before it's too late
Some of you guys are sleeping on Amara Darboh. He was drafted in the 3d round, same round as Tyler Lockett, albeit a little lower. He's got the body of a prototypical WR, runs a mid 4.4 40, and might surprise some folks when given a chance.

Have had him stashed on my roster now for awhile. Full disclosure, I also own Lockett. So my opinion is wholly un-biased.
