Help with Rules for New Keeper League

I'm trying to get a new keeper league started with my buddies and was wondering about ideas/suggestions for rules. Most of my fantasy buds are in deep keeper leagues that are draft-oriented (both rookies and free agents). My idea on making this league different is to have limited keepers (10-15) with a rookie draft and an auction for free agents. Anyone setup a league with similar parameters? My thoughts were the keepers would be due before the NFL Draft, then a light rookie draft (4 rounds?) right after the NFL Draft and then the auction during preseason. For keepers, I was thinking of simplifying the process and not assigning values and a cap. Rather, during the auction, the worst team from the prior year would be assigned more free agent dollars than the second worst team, etc. to try to replenish their roster based on drops and undrafted rookies. Any thoughts/ideas?
