Will Michael bush sign a new deal with raiders?

Postby Risky bidness » Tue Dec 29, 2009 11:05 am

Contract Information for Michael Bush

7/25/2007: Signed a four-year, $2.165 million contract. The deal included a $500,000 signing bonus. 2009: $460,000, 2010: $550,000, 2011: Free Agent

From what I've read, Tom Cable isn't really high on Bush. Be it that he's a free agent after next year, isn't this the year you really want to hold onto the guy?

I wonder if he can be had by another team in this offseason. His contract is so small that getting a deal done in a trade or taking on a big contract shouldn't be an issue right? Maybe the raiders can't get rid of him next year because they're not sure if DMC can carry the load with Fargas.

I really hope he goes elsewhere. I would like to see him be given a shot somewhere.

If Bush finishes his original contract with the Raiders, he'll already be 27 years old by the time he goes to another team :( , hopefully for his owners he can get traded and become a featured back for another team, perhaps his agent should demand a trade or something.

My prediction is that Bush will have a few good games next year for Oakland when given the opportunity. Then, he'll sign elsewhere just like Michael Turner and have a very similar impact for his new team. He'll be a top 10 commodity for about two years and then he'll flame out.

Buy now on the cheap and sell him in two years after you get the one good season out of him that you should.

Another RB I'd compare him to would be Lamont Jordan. He's better than Lamont. But, remember when he finally got out of Curtis Martin's shadow and went to Oakland? He became a top 8 RB for 1 year. He's never been the same since. That's about how I see him. He's a very good RB. But, he'll be getting up there in age when he finally gets his shot. And, it's age more than carries that dictate when a RB will flame out in the NFL.

TE: Kelce, Pitts, Njoku, Seals-Jones

Right now, it's hard to say. I'm not sure that Cable will still be the HC in 2010. I was reading that Jim Fassell is on top of any list to replace him. (not that he's great.....) A different HC will have to make his own determination on the RB situation. It could be that Bush is the starter with DMC as the 3rd down back. Who the hell knows right now! :D

They would do themselves a favor if they kept Bush. He is a great player.

I'd love to see Bush get a featured role but I agree with Kris and his Lamont Jordan comparison which would not be good for his long term fantasy potential.
