Postby acclizal » Sun Jan 24, 2016 1:03 pm

whats asj's value?

I think he is a great buy low this year. Thinking about offering up the 1.8 or ameer for him what you guys think?

I would give the late first in this years draft but I wouldn't give Abdullah for him. I also think Ameer is a good buy low this offseason though.

I've been wanting to make a thread on him for forever. He's very intriguing but every time i watch him i'm disappointed, he never seems quite as good as i want him to be

Historically speaking - TEs typically take a while to develop.

I like ASJ a lot. Had him in 1 of 2 leagues and as of last week, acquired him in the othee.

I traded Evans & Abdullah for ARob & ASJ, if that helps.

He has missed a lot of games so far ... If you get him make sure you pick up Brate too... he did very well while ASJ was out..

Think it is a good move to get him now, if Vincent Jackson isn't with Tampa next year, surely he'll see an uptick until Kenny Bell can get going..

Feels like this year's Tyler Eifert scenario. Highly drafted TE that's flown under the radar due to two injury riddled seasons. Though I've always thought Eifert was a better TE prospect than ASJ, he is the type of TE that I'll look into acquiring this season. Like others have said, TEs take time to progress in the pros anyways, if you can get a highly drafted TE heading into his 3rd season at an added discount due to injuries, I'd be willing to take a shot on them.

Injuries are the only thing holding him back. If V-Jax gets cut in the offseason, then Evans and ASJ are the central focuses.

Saw Ameer for ASJ in a league in Nov. It was an overpay but should definitely get the job done.

From your roster, I think Funchess is a good player to offer.

I was looking to target a tight end, so I talked to a team in a 10-teamer that boasts Kelce, ASJ and Reed. Kelce isn't available (he's a Chiefs fan), Jordan Reed costs about the 12th pick, and ASJ costs a first-rounder.

Meh.
Team 1, 10-team 0.5-PPR
QB (1): Richardson, Watson, Purdy
RB (2-3): Walker, Swift, Dobbins, R. White, Mitchell, Gainwell
WR (3-4): Hill, Godwin, Aiyuk, Flowers, N. Collins, Doubs, M. Wilson, Shakir
TE (1-2): McBride, Goedert, Okonkwo

I wouldn't pay for Reed, he has like 4 concussions.. especially a TE2 price..

Personally I'd give the 12th pick for Reed all day. That's still a pretty cheap price IMO. It's not like he's asking for a top 3 pick or multiple mid 1sts. Reed outscored Gronk on a per game basis this year, that's definitely worth gambling on for the 12th pick when it itself is a total gamble, at least to me.

If you're telling me ASJ costs more in your league than Reed, then yikes. Don't get me wrong, I like ASJ a lot (and am invested in him), but Reed can downright play.

If you're competing and want to upgrade your TE spot Reed is a buy with the 12th pick to me.

If you're rebuilding and want to take a shot on a high-upside TE, I think ASJ is your best shot over Ladarius Green/Ebron/whoever else isn't at a premium price.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins was dismissed from practice today and then blew up on Twitter, indicating he was "Moving on." Just a heads up in case you see any trade offers.

Does this make him a "buy even lower" prospect?

His contract jumps to over 1 million next year so could they possibly cut him if he doesn't fit?
