Started Demaryius Thomas over Brandin Cooks for team 2 in signature this past week for a championship. Lost by 3.8 points. Would have won by 8.6 had I started Cooks.
Probably have other lineup decisions I could have made that would have made up the 3.8 points elsewhere. But I was debating Cooks vs DT thru the week and decided to stick with DT. Burned me

What cost me the title this year? That the guy I met in the semis (who limped in and had a very thin roster) started Cam and David Johnson. 40 plus points for each of them. I never stood a chance. That my team put up the second most points in our league that week is very, very small comfort.

Can't complain, though. I went from last place in the regular season last season to first place this year. Fingers crossed, my roster looks pretty good for a few years yet.

Luck being down/out all year just plummeted my team (and Moncrief's WR value) throughout the whole year. But if I have to point to one specific thing that still haunts me, it was me simply forgetting to update my starters to put in Martin and Rawls (as I planned) on the week they both went off for over 200 yards. Would've won me the week that week and got me into the playoffs. Instead, I dominated the Toilet Bowl...where, obviously, I scored more points than my would-be opponent in the semi's and the championship. :wall:

That won me week 15 and in week 16 traded Rawls of D Williams, if I didn't my opponent would. He got 27 and I won 159 to 107. Otherwise final score would have been like 133 to 134, depending on who I played instead, I may have still own but it would have been really close.
you don't have a trade deadline?

In the offseason I made a trade that was essentially to give Hopkins+Michael Floyd+picks to get AJG/Big Ben. For the season things probably wouldn't have changed much, but I started Ben in the championship game and he put up a donut. I wasn't sure if AJG was going to play so I played Amari Cooper who also put up a donut. If I keep Hopkins/Floyd and start either plus Tyrod Taylor or whoever else I would have had if I didn't trade for Ben I would have won. Kind of crazy how these things work out. Or don't work out.

In one league I would narrow it down to nobody accepting my offers to send them Brandon Marshall (WR) all offseason. People kept countering with some lowball offers and I just stuck with him and he bounced back which was a big deal in a league where I lost Dez, Edelman and DeSean for huge chunks of the season.

Mostly it was just making good decisions all year round and a little luck. Won 3 of 7 and barely missed 2 others.

Traded Edelman for Latavius Murray at the end of October. Was dying for RB help in a start 2 RB league after Charles went down, had been resorting to starting Marcel Reece as there was nothing on the waiver wire. Edelman then got hurt and whilst Murray wasn't amazing he made my team more balanced and delivered me the championship in week 16 with his highest score of the year.

Monday night, week 15, Tim Hightower had a TD called back because a lineman hadn't declared himself eligible.

My opponent had Hightower and I hung on to win by 1 point, then won a low-scoring final.

It was only redraft, though. :|

Two things.

The Combination of Eifert, Dalton and Rawls going down in week 14 pretty much knocked me out of 3 leagues in the first round.

Then in the Semi's going against my gut and starting calvin over Cooks aswell as dropping Cam for Wilson at the last minute cost me two wins in the semi.

Without those i probably have another 3 championships.

If talking injuries losing Lewis and Flacco in my 16 team superflex cost me in a league where i went 13-0 regular season then lost first round by 5 points. Eifert going down during that week cost me as it's 1.5 ppr for TE's so only need two more catches pretty much. Next two weeks i outscored everyone but the guy i could have beaten.

Bell, Forte and Dion Lewis all getting injured within a week. I know, that's three things, but the injuries aren't what caused me to lose. What caused me to lose was I had to pay to buy RB's in order to replace those guys and I didn't have enough pieces to upgrade my WR or TE situation for a playoff push. My WR's hurt me more than my RB's in the playoffs.

This is in a redraft league, but still.........

Going into the championship game, I had zero waiver wire dollars left. My opponent had zero waiver wire dollars as well.

For the week 16 waiver claims, I put in a zero dollar claim for Kirk Cousins. So did my opponent. My opponent got him though since he had a "higher waiver claim" status than me. Probably because I finished the season 10-3. He finished 7-6.

Since I didn't get Cousins, I had to start David Carr. That was a 20 point swing.

My opponent started Cousins instead of Rivers. That was a 20 point swing as well.

That was more than the difference in our matchup. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.........

Lost in the final. Had several key injuries along the way, but if I'm trying to limit it to one thing it would be the PIT offense in week 16. Started Bryant and Big Ben thinking they would throw all over BAL (I started Ben over Cam, who wouldn't have helped me much more).

Sorry, but I have to name a few more things that cost me. The Beckham suspension was killer for me. Additionally the GB offense/Cards Defense (who my opponent started) was absolutely brutal for me. GB is the worst team headed to the playoffs (yes worse than HOU) and I absolutely loathe them right now.
