Pretty much.

You don't "decide" one week before you're about to be reinstated that you're going to check into rehab.

This could have been done at any point. The timing is what makes this suspicious.

The roller coaster of Josh Gordon takes another twist turn and drop.
There are so many theories as to what this means, honestly right now nobody knows.

He had to turn Manziel's life around first.

Rumors he was busted at the airport with pot. What I heard was a pound.

GD Gordon. I've been one of the guys holding him for years.

^^^^ If this is true, that is simply, idiotic. Millions of dollars or slanging $600 worth of weed? No, he is not holding a pound for personal use and highly doubt he has a big enough entourage to need that much to share. It's a plant so it does not stay fresh for that long, and bringing in an airport?? That can't be true, but holy that would be a pretty good conclusion to the story. That Bears WR already beat him to the punch with attempting to be the NFL Sampson.

Browns scout forum. Not sure how reliable but it's from some of their "insiders" and typically they are reliable.

I highly doubt this is true. A pound of week at an airport = right to jail which we'd probably have heard about from somebody who's not a commenter on a team blog.

I want to give him the benefit of doubt that he's actually trying to fix his issues, but to me this smells very Rosenhaus-ish. He's been driving the Gordon out of Cleveland rumors for years and this would only help that exit. The timing is definitely odd. Again, I'll hold off judgement and assume the kid is trying to get better, but won't be shocked by anything.

I don't see how this could possibly be true. If he was caught with a pound of weed at an airport, the breaking story would not be him checking into rehab, it would be him being arrested.

You have to wonder if Goddell, Gordon and the Browns all knew this was coming long ago. Seems like a good ploy to hype the NFL, jersey sales, the Browns, ect.

Whatever the reason it's clearly a preemptive strike against whatever bleep up he did. He just bleep on two my teams. Such a colossal bleep up. I'm absolutely done with J. Gordon.

Shoreline Steamers wrote: But I've said it before, likely on this thread. When a player hits the 4-game suspension territory it's time to shop them around. You have to fail/miss/dilute something like 10 tests in the Substances of Abuse program to hit that 4-game threshold. And if you can't pull yourself out of the downward spiral by that point, it's likely not going to happen.
Where are you seeing this about 10 failed tests?
Tried to find the article I was reading a few months ago but couldn't. So I went and did some additional reading. As near as I can tell, you actually reach the 4-game suspension in 5 failed tests. This assumes: (for marijuana - other drugs are different)

1 fail - stage one
2 fail - 3 game fine/stage two
3 fail - 2 game fine
4 fail - 4 game fine
5 fail - 4 game suspension

So I'm remembering incorrectly, it was a hack article, or it's possible to successfully complete stage one of the intervention process without a missed/failed/dilute test and return to "normal" status. Then re-enter stage one with another failed test and start over. However, I don't think that's the case from reading the policy. It looks to me that if you successfully complete stage one and are released, a subsequent failed test takes you right to stage two.

I'm no lawyer though, so I may not be interpreting the policy correctly. Looks like I have to cut that "10 tests" down to five.

The TSA representative recognized him and decided to check him out??

So you're telling me poor baby Josh Gordon was discriminated against??

This is ridiculous, he's an innocent victim being screwed by the system for the 8th time since entering the league.
