ArrylT wrote: Thu Sep 27, 2018 6:50 pm Hard to believe, but as luck and scheduling would have it, after this week we'll go from 4 3-0 teams down to 2 since they all play each other to the benefit of the 2-1 teams ... if they can capitalize ...
So, FYI, wins and losses don’t matter very much. Playoffs and seeding is primarily determined by victory points.
I am fully aware of that lol - as I play in several VP leagues - however Wins still earn you 2 key VP. 4-0 means an absolute minimum of 8 VP whereas 0-4 would mean an absolute maximum of 8 VP. Each extra win gives you a 2 point buffer before Top-Middle-Bottom scores gets taken into account, and even 1 VP could be the difference between a bye or no bye going into the playoffs.

One thing I am curious about - is how top 3rd, middle 3rd and bottom 3rd are broken down in a league that does not have a number of teams divisible by 3.

Does it go 5-5-6? 6-5-5? Or 5-6-5?

Lets see going by Week I:

32 total VP points awarded

8 wins x 2 = 16 VP
5 x 2 = 10
6 x 1 = 6
16+10+6=32

That would suggest it uses a 5-6-5 format.

And by checking the VP Summary report

http://www68.myfantasyleague.com/2018/o ... 3015&O=153

It looks like that is the case as only 5 teams got 0 VP for their scores.

Btw 1 guess as to which team has 0 VP total so far. ;)

I think I may earn some VP this week even if I do not upset nation31 - all thanks to Trubisky. :)

Yeldon with (basically) his 4th straight 10 point (aka RB2) performance - have to admit owning Yeldon when he isnt tied to my Fournette shares is a god-send. :)

Could this be reverse psychology in play? If Patrick Mahomes does his best Trubisky impression (or was that Trubisky doing a Mahomes impression  ) - 47 points or so plus an early Royce Freeman fumble leading to a benching could be just enough to cause DLF_Jaron to have a Raiders (over Browns) like comeback. 8-)

DLF HOF Week IV Results

knotts4372 114.05 sloth8u 54.00

As expected knotts was able to take full advantage of slouth8us slow buildup (at their current rate of scoring they'll likely reach 120 points by 2020) to dominate, powered in part by DJax & Julio.

maxhyde 120.55 TitusYoungsLawyer 110.00

TitusYoungsLawyer now has cause to file for breach of contract. Maxhyde was supposed to be bad this week, but broke his word and instead was able to remain Dr. Jekyll enough to stymie TYLs late MNF comeback effort.

thebeast 146.30 auggiedoggies 113.90

Tired of the puns being played off their name, thebeast exploded for their strongest output of the season telling auggiedoggies that they were barking up the wrong tree, even with their MNF efforts driven by Kelce & Hunt.

Seventy5 186.90 Plank 105.70

Seventy5 played the role of the Rams to perfection, but someone forgot to give Plank the memo that they needed to play the Vikings - instead they emulated the Dolphins (and wilted under pressure). S5s score is the highest of the year so far, and second highest all-time it seems ... we shall see if that puts the scare in other contender & pretender type teams.

steeveb 148.15 JFever 88.40

Well it is a good thing JFever did not go with Allen, otherwise the beatdown he received at the hands of steeveb would have looked even worse! The least happy owner this morning might not be JFever - since he is retooling - but the owner of steevebs future 1st - as a couple of more performances like this and he'll be ranking up wins, victory points and possibly a playoff spot faster than you or I could say "Vikings are overrated" - oh wait that is JFever also - so now he has to worry if that was a 1 off or sign of things to come ...

Dookmariot 126.90 DLF_JaronF 89.50

So how many of you watching the MNF game said to yourself - meh I do not see Keenum engineering that game winning drive? Probably the same ones that thought Dook had this game all wrapped up. Well congratulations you went 2 for 2!

Jules 114.75 ericanadian 89.50

Jules ended up winning, potentially reviving his moribund playoff hopes, while also making the ericanadian future 1st he owned that much more valuable. He also made the same mistake I made in a few matchups and that was trusting Eli could actually do anything against the Saints D. Hopefully he'll follow the 'In Stafford We Trust' motto from here on out.

nation31 146.35 ArrylT 105.30

Nope nation31 did NOT want this to be their Bills moment, and took care of business. The most annoying thing though was that I thought Trubiskys performance would be enough to get me a Victory Point, but that was stolen from me by Plank who outscored my team by .4 :( Ok I guess he needed that consolation VP more than I did - but he could have at least asked first!

DLF HOF Week V Matchups

JFever vs. auggiedoggies

While JFever is 2-2 and auggiedoggies is 1-3 they both share the same VP position at 6. Although there is a lot of JFevermania going around I think this is the week auggiedoggies score themselves a bone.

Dookmariot vs. maxhyde

Now that maxhyde has broken the curse of Dr. Jekyll, we may be able to believe in his ability to dook it out with Dookmariot. But some of the bookies are still hyding so get your bets in while you still can!

nation31 vs. Plank

Both teams are 3-1 with (un)lucky 13 VPs. Which team is more superstitious - or more importantly which team is more hungry to win?

thebeast vs. steeveb

Both steeveb and thebeast have likely started off the season slower than they would like - so it will be interesting to see which team can pick up steam and momentum with a win this week.

sloth8u vs. Jules

With Fournette out, and Jules looking to shake off the rust, it could be 0-5 for sloth8u.

Seventy5 vs. DLF_JaronF

Both teams faced contenders last week but only S5 handled their opponent. Now they meet - can JaronF rebound and regain all his DLF Writer fans - or will their bandwagon become empty while S5s could be overly full?

knotts4372 vs. ericanadian

If knotts can get a win here, and Bell does come back in a few weeks - they could be sitting pretty. Lets see if ericanadian can play spoiler though.

ArrylT vs. TitusYoungsLawyer

ArrylT wanted to sue for grand theft victory point last week - but unfortunately the only lawyer available was TYL and it would be a conflict of interest with their 2 teams playing this week.
