Re: Cooper to the Cowboys
In 6 games with the Cowboys Cooper has 40 catches for 642 yards and 6 TD's, being "new" to the offense. So I think Cooper can be in the conversation as a future WR1 again.

I'm impressed
I guess some people should remember that situations CAN hold down talent considerably. Even Randy Moss looked like a bad WR in his Oakland time, and we KNEW that wasn't true.

Re: Cooper to the Cowboys
Switching teams has completely rehabilitated his value. He's a new asset now.
Re: Cooper to the Cowboys
I really Liked the trade for Dallas when they made it but Cooper has even exceeded my expectations to date. Always knew he had elite route running skills and was way underrated in beating press coverage but had some concerns with concentrations. He has eliminated those concerns. Cooper has to be one of the happiest players in the NFL. 8 or more targets in 5 of 6 games.
Love when he scores he just walks back to the team without making a big show. That said on the overtime TD he showed excitement.
After today's game he is Number 1 WR in fantasy from week 9-14 and #2 in points per game. He has played a significant role in 5 of of his 6 games and Dallas has all but locked the division.
I agree Valhalla, situation really matters.
Cooper sure looks to be in a real good situation these days.

Re: Cooper to the Cowboys
Coop has always been like that when he scores. It is refreshing. It's also great to see a guy who is very humble, completely dominate a game like today. It's just refreshing to see someone be content knowing they helped their team, and not make it about themselves. Although I think his agent may have different ideas. Probably has left Jerrah, about 6 messages already on how he wants to start Coop's extension talks immediately. Coop has turned that division since his arrival. His 2 TD's changed the Redskins game, and his game today vs the Eagles basically sealed the division for them. Coop is in for a BIG payday.Ice wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 6:48 pm I really Liked the trade for Dallas when they made it but Cooper has even exceeded my expectations to date. I'm certainly feeling great about sending Cooper for Sutton before the deadline. Sigh.

Re: Cooper to the Cowboys
Hindsight is the stupidest counter argument. He looked flat awful in Oakland. In addition, yeah it feels great now. But how about when its time to pay everyone? Dak wil get paid, Cooper will get paid. How about Dlaw? Byron Jones? Jaylon Smith? And most importantly Zeke? I would have rather drafted a WR in the up coming class and saved money for critical pieces of the team that will leave.

Re: Cooper to the Cowboys
Whether or not Cooper is a fantasy WR1 aside, it's got to feel d*mned good if you're him. Going from an imploding gruden-mobile where you weren't wanted to a place that keeps calling you Jesus. And a billionaire who can and will pay you who keeps publicly all but saying you're gonna get paid BIG if you keep producing... and then you do...and then some. Gotta be awesome being Cooper for now. I'm betting they sign him, Zeke, and Dak with very little drama. As long as Zeke doesn't hang out with Leveon in the offseason. Jerry's obsessed with resurrecting and reprising the "Cowboys triplets" cast. He'll pay the piper. Screw the rest of the team... except that Vander-what's-iz-name cat, but he's a rookie and cheap for several years.
On trading for Cooper, yeah, a rookie WR woulda made much much more $ sense and bought more time, but it's increasingly difficult to argue with the trade now. If the Cowboys were a fantasy football and you labeled them a "win now team", giving up a 1st for Amari's production would not only *not* be a bad trade, it would be hailed as bold and smart move. Add in that he's only 24 and...reality & fantasy converging?

We also have to remember a rookie in next year's draft wasn't going to help them this year like Cooper has been.

I wasn't trying to make an argument that you were wrong. I understand the salary stand point I just wanted to show how different the comments are from the beginning to the end of this threadBot101 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 9:36 pmHindsight is the stupidest counter argument.
