What to look for in week 2 of Preseason?

Postby hudini33 » Thu Aug 16, 2018 1:31 pm

Just curious as to what everyone is looking for. Obviously injuries is number 1.

Im watching some of these RB battles unfold. I want to see who takes over in both WSH and IND. Also, see if any of the rookie QBs take a step in either direction.

Anyone have any other things they want to see?

I'm really hoping to see Chubb run with the 1st team offense and show me more than last week
QB - DWatson(HOU)Minshew(JAX)Darnold(NYJ)
RB -NChubb(CLE)DHenry(TEN)JTaylor(IND)Gurley(ATL)
WR -DHopkins(ARI)ACooper(DAL)CGodwin(TB)OBJ(CLE)
TE - HHenry(SD)DGoeddart(PHI)
K - Zurlien(LAR)Crosby(GB)
Def - ARI DAL
[rookie] Haskins(WAS)DSwift(DET)Jefferson(MIN)MHardman(KC)
7th pick in 2021

Rosters must always be 3qbs 4wrs 4rbs 2tes 2kickers 2dst and protected players don't take up a roster spot, but are only for rookie/2nd-year players that were drafted

Looking to see McNichols SF. I don't trust McKinnon to stay healthy all year and Breida is already out.

Hill in New England

To a lesser degree Jonathan Williams NO

No doubt. He made some elite looking plays moving on the run and rifling in some passes but also seemed to struggle with some throws downfield from the pocket.

This Jets fan is curious for sure. Tempering expectations.

I'm looking to see how the rookie RBs produce ... with the exception of Barkley, I'm starting to think this year's class will not be nearly as productive as 2017.

The second Tier from 2018 has either looked poor or has been injured. Maybe K Johnson or Freeman end up being the second best in this group.

I called this RB class over hyped months ago (not exactly a hot take I know) after last years successes, I think it will be hard for them to live up to the expectation (which isn't a knock on them). We could see a similar situation to last year when 2 later guys end up valued as high or higher then the consensus top picks.
I would love to see the rookie qbs in with the 1's to really see what they have, also hoping to see Corey Davis on a few snaps.

Chagers linebacking core, and the running back depth in Wash and IND, all of these can determine starters

Looking forward to seeing Royce some more, hopefully with the 1's. He was one of my favourite backs this year, though I spoke little of him, and was a one of my favourite value picks, but somehow I did not end up with him, as I was always in the very early first this year, with a bunch of orphans I took on. That pass that clunked off his hands was perhaps why Elway referred to him as an" early down thumper". I think Jordan Howard is probably his realistic ceiling, but if he can come anywhere close to that, I think that the Broncos got a steal in the third.

Browns: David Njoku: As an owner of many shares, I’m really interested in seeing what he does this week, after having two TDS, one from Taylor and Mayfield. I really like his measurables and he could breakout even sooner than I expected.

Broncos: Jake Butt: He was out there in their first game, but I didn’t see him get any targets but I feel like if he can show anything much at all, he should be the starter and a cheap reserve TE for fantasy.

Cowboys: Michael Gallup and Blake Jarwin: I named both players in preseason week one and Gallup caught a long TD(granted Jimmy Ward screwed up) and Jarwin had a couple of catches. Gallup didn’t get many targets last week and I’m hoping he gets some more action Saturday night. Jarwin looks like he has the best chance to lead the TEs in catches this season and even though Geoff Swaim will be out there a lot, he’s more of a blocking TE, so I’m interested to see if Jarwin can kinda distance himself from Swaim and Dalton Schultz.

Buccaneers: R.Jones & P.Barber: I own both guys on two teams, unfortunately, not the same teams, it just didn’t work out that way but I’m interested in seeing if Jones can step it up some this week and also want to watch Barber a little more, he’s a player that I’ve not watched/followed much his first few years in the NFL.

for tonight's games
Mahomes - I'm not convinced, what is the pee pants scale after today?
Kerryon - another good performance and he could be named the starter for week 1?
CMC - he had a workhorse role last week, was that an experiment or a trend?
NO backfield - does a favorite emerge for the Ingram role? Is there an Ingram role?
I would also like to see Chubb get a crease or two this game
